Sure you don't

If you don't want to watch it, there's always the popular comic it was based on.

I didn't know Meatloaf was in the original comic.

Why do people like Zombies?  ???

Whats the point?

When Zombies and other types of Doom and Gloom shows become popular, it's a sign of how society as a whole feels about the world today and are unhappy with it.

Agreed.

It can get bad enough without the "zombies".

When Frank Darabont created the show he wanted to show the struggle of mankind, their emotions and survival instinct in a post apocalyptic world. The zombie aspect is second which I think is frustrating some people when the gore/action level is less.
Great show, some episodes have been a bit slow in places but it's gotta be tough to keep a good mix, constant zombie killing would wear thin quickly.

governor is really the problem.

and the show would be very very boring if it wasn't for rick... his continual need to do stupid and sympathetic unnecessary shit delivers 90% of the action on the show.

I've enjoyed the governor this season.  The tv version is a lot better than his comic incarnation.  The governor in the comics is your stereotypical cackling thumb twiddling villain with no depth.  I think Michonne is better on the show than in the comics as well.  I've been able to tolerate her on the show , where as, in the comic she is intolerable.

the show is about how quickly we lose our civilised front

we are all basically savages

we are all tribal

and above all our instinct for survival far outweighs our moral code

thats what makes it such a great programme the zombies are incidental

and merely a comparison for the descent into savagery of the humans

trouble is like with all shows is getting everything right, atleast this show doesn't play it safe.
Word is in season 4 the walker threat is being amped up as they seem to have become a manageable threat and they aren't.
Atleast the producers seem to take on board viewers feedback.

they stopped mowing the lawn at the prison when people complained!  haha

i'm bored with the prison.   i'd like to see them travel more.  maybe run to the coast when another herd arrives, and climb onto a boat to end season 3.  that'd be badass.  we'd have the off-season to wonder where they're headed.  they could end up in europe and change things up a bit... seeing London under zomzbie control would be badass.   at least float up the coast to NYC or DC... that'd be awesome.  bored with georgia wilderness.

The interesting thing about the show now is there is no way Rick and his crew should stay in the prison and fight. In real life, they would have hightailed it out of there when the Governor showed up and dropped off the walker bomb. So much easier to kill walkers than it is to go to war against people with guns. In fact, when a 9 year old kid can kill walkers like its nothing, maybe going out to the real world is a better option than taking on a crazy man in the Governor.

yea that sounds pretty good, for me it's visual stuff that makes the show excell. I like seeing all the deserted stuff as that gives it the real atmosphere, the first season in the city stuff was brilliant.

Sure they can take some liberties.....but you have to remember that this is till based off of an on-going comic series. That can't go crazy like that.

Darabont didn't create it, Kirkland did.

Darabont is just putting the comic to the screen.

What's shown in the comic is exactly that, to show the struggle of mankind and that not everything is black and white.
