If I were you, I would write lists of my interests and goals and how best to achieve them. I find that mapping out my goals provides a comforting sense of direction. I always know where I am and where I'd like to be. But, I recommend never projecting to far forward and to always be focused on accomplishing the next step of the plan, or you will surely feel overwhelmed and hopeless.. I find this to especially true for long term goals. A healthy distraction is to make short term goals that create a sense of achievement while you wait for longer goals to be completed.
