They dont have to.  VERY often, there are cases where 2 people enter an alley, one kills the other... and they RARELY have video of what happened.  They look at the evidence and the jurors decide, based upon a nice discussion of the evidence, what they THINK happened.  People go to prison all the time without the case being proven "without a shadow of a doubt".

We already know he was pursuing the kid for 2 blocks.   We already know the kid was running away.  We already know zimm had a pre-determined notion of exactly who trayvon was (incorreectly calling him a burglar)... and based upon his profanity, some will believe he was angry.   These facts are not debatable.  Zimm's own words tell us this.

My point exactly, they're charging with him with 2nd degree murder, which means that he went into the encounter with a good idea that the kid would probably die. They have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman went into the encounter knowing full well that Martin could wind up dead.

1st Degree Murder: Characterized by premeditation.

so the prosecutor left manslaughter OFF the list of charges?  If so, that's pretty big.  Defense will bend over to plead to 8 years for manslaughter.  Jury will have to choose - should zimm get 20 years or should he be free tomorrow?   Do we want 10 million zimmerman's running thru the streets with 9mm, chasing minors who had committed no crime, then "engaging" them leading to shooting?
