I've met a LOT of Americans who mooch off the system and don't work.

Most of them don't like it though. Most of them want to work and do something, but they just can't find anything besides minimum wage, and welfare pays about the same as that, so why would they want to work?

After a while they become hopelessness depressed. They do become lazy after a while, while but the system turned them in that direction by putting them in a dead end situation.

The notion that they are just lazy is bullshit. It's pro-capitalist propaganda designed to hide one of the biggest flaws in the system. It's an oversimplification of the real truth.

Lazy moochers are not born, they are created.

Great thread. E-Kul speaks the truth.

Those of you who are honestly having a hard time understanding why some of us don't like how the current system makes losers of so many might want to see this video:

Great Youtube clip - gives people an interesting perspective.  People get upset when you highlight the reality of the current paradigm, they see you as bitter, or jealous or lazy or any number of negative things.  I think this happens in part because they truly don't understand how imbalanced it all is, they simply have trouble seeing beyond their current class (more than likely the one they were born into), they see the extreme lower classes as deserving of their poverty and because they themselves were raised in a higher class fail to see the insurmountable challenges the average child from a lower class has to overcome just to survive.  When they look at the classes above them, they also fail to see or imagine the enormous difference in wealth and power, they attribute such wealth to hard work, not realising this is a myth and also an idea sold to them by the media and education system that those very Elites own.

The majority of Ideas that the middle and lower classes carry around are sold to them by the Elite upper classes, the majority of people fail to link the information they hold with the Elites who have sold it too them, not only do the middle and lower classes think what the Elites want them too, they actually pay for it.  This is why the Elites see those below them as stupid, they can't believe how easy it all is, not only do the middle and lower classes not oppose them, they actually defend them.  I think what any reasonable person desires is a more equitable system based on fairness.  And it would take a hell of an argument to justify why a CEO of a large corporation is worth thousands of times more than his grass roots workers.

Also I think the other reason others don't like to hear the reality of the current paradigm is because it exposes them to a feeling of powerlessness, of swimming against a powerful current and they worry this will psychologically compromise them of their current ability to  to just stay afloat.  These people like to feel in control, a sense of power over their lives, it riles them to think they have far less control than they think they do and that they have been railroaded into an existence that suits the Elites and not necessarily their individual desires.  It is easier to ignore the reality, read some new age books, force some optimism and just get on with it.  In a way, these people have resigned themselves to their lot in life, which is easy for a lot of them, because they are well fed, clothed, educated and have suitable housing with access to utilities.  Why would they want to rock the boat, all they need do is look around them to see others far worse off, they are just glad they are not one of them.  As for speaking out about it, they don't see the point, like I said they have admitted defeat and are happy to just make the best of their current situation.

The people of the USA have been sold out in almost every way.

Sold out to the pharmaceutical industry, insurance industry, prison industrial complex.

Bled for every dime of taxes. Living in a police state. About half the people in the USA are poor, desperate and ready to snap.

Still, lots of retarded Americans say they have "freedom".

Where is this freedom?

Also sold out to Monsanto.

Yes, I am YAGER. If you got a problem with that, you can find me in your Moms bedroom.

But anyway. I just wish Americans would face the truth, instead of all the macho patriotism. Probably won't happen though.

I would say canada is more free.

x2 - non-police state, no terrorist attacks on our soil, lower taxes for higher income earners, much lower crime rate, lower disparity between the upper class and lower, friendler people, and we get better treatment when abroad and people see our passport reads "Canada" and not the US, no housing crash or to a much lower extent, etc.

Still not perfect but much more favourable than living in the US.  Only downside is the weather, but that's well worth the trade.

Great post.

In small town america everybody is paranoid and armed with tons of guns, the stores are constantly sold out on ammo, crackheads everywhere, everyone acting macho. It's just too violent.

And the health care system is fucked. The prescription medicine system is fucked. You even have to jump through hoops just to get new glasses and contact lenses here.

America is almost a great country.we just need to fix a few things here.

lot of things to be fixed bro. best start we can make is to have politicians who actually give a rat's ass about the USA, rather than their own political goals and their own image and lives. that wont ever happen though. this is america, anyone and anything can be bought.

Tell me, which country has more freedom than the United States?

Depends on the measure...

Press Freedom

Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Andorra, Denmark, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Iceland, Sweded, Estonia, Austria, Jamaica, Switzerland, Ireland, Czech Republic, German, Costa Rica, Namibia, Canada, Belgium, Poland, Slovakia, Cyprus (pre crisis), Cape Verde, Australia, Uruguay, Portugal, United Kingdom, Ghana, Suriname

Economic Freedom

Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Chile, Mauritius, Denmark

You don't have to travel that much to understand that the US is quite average when it comes to being free - what most Americans consider as "unique freedoms" in their country are actually commonplace around the world.

Yeah, America is just too money oriented and the society is too enslaved by money. And the politicians pass laws that sell out the people, because corporations bribe them to do so.

Very heavy corruption in certain areas for sure.

That is simply just not true.

I don`t think America is a crime infested place. The overwhelming majority of it is safer than anywhere in the world.  Most of the United States is rural you know.  Crime is committed largely by certain groups of people in cities.  Its mostly localized to certain areas and is not prevalent if you take the entire United States as a whole in context.

The best thing you can do to help is to encourage stupid people not to breed.  Champion abortion and petition your Congressman to support giving out tax incentives or some other incentive to NOT have children.

Abortion has been the most effective tool to reduce crime in the long run and nothing else comes close.

Good post TA, I missed this thread before!

fixed.

think about it. only reason we are told to go to college is so that we can get a job. but the fact of the matter is, college degrees are a dime a fucking dozen. an undergrad degree is the new high school diploma, its just expected to get ANY decent job. but even if you have one, you need some experience and most college grads have none in their area of study, as they spent their college career delivering pizza or working at a grocery store for minimum wage. or not working at all lol. and the whole reason for this madness? so we can 'get a job' outside of the retail or fast food spectrum and actually make a reasonable living. and weve been told this all our lives, that to be happy and to live a good life one must have money. to have money, we need a job and a good one at that and only thru a university education can one achieve this with what is perceived to be minimal effort (and since humans always pick the easiest option, we all go with college). education is a business and they make a fucking killing, textbooks cost a buttload and a new edition is published every year at least that you have to buy NEW most of the time.its a business, and america has been sold. people no longer go to school to learn, but to get qualified so they can make money and live what they have been taught is a happy normal life.

lol.

Rural areas in america are FULL of crime. TA is full of shit on that. I live in a town of population 1000 and I've seen some gnarly shit go down.

Meth, burglaries and thefts are the three things you will see in rural USA.

It depends which state and and which area you are in of course.

the education system is also heavily privatised and all about profit. That's for sure.

But I've been around the world. And I've seen a lot worse countries. We are spoiled in america in many ways inspire of the problems.
