I like Alex Ross' idea that Superman should be a big strong guy but not necessarily a bodybuilder type. It's Batman who needs to work his ass off in the gym - Supes is just stronger because of the yellow sun.

Untrue.Batman in the comic book is every bit the physical specimen visually that Superman is. Superman is stronger due to his Kryptonian physiology, not his physical appearance.

Tim Burton almost did a Superman movie... It was shelved, but he wanted Cage as Supes and this was the test run.It was in the 90s when Superman had longer hair.
ah yea your right, it was called "superman lives" and apparantly they even finished teaser posters for the movie. I only read about this yesturday but not that cage was involved.
