Bane (Jeep Swenson) and I were good friends. Jeep was 6'4" 410, yes 410. I watched him step on the scale almost weekly. His weight was always 395 - 415. NEVER under 395. In person he was unbelievable. Monstrous. On the big screen he was average- very strange. Jeep was on the entire pharmacy.

Jeep did something funny. . . We've all used straps for heavy shrugs, bentover rows, etc. I've done 1,000's of reps (lifetime, not one set) with 600-700 pounds and I have never broken a wrist strap. I've worn them out and thrown them away but never broken one. I would give Jeep a brand new pair of good quality straps (on back day) and he would return them in an hour or so and one strap would always be torn in two. He would say, "Sorry Tommy, they just don't make them like they used to."

I don't know how he was breaking them.

"Cardiac failure" He was transported to the hospital with chest pains and shortness of breath. His condition deteriorated quickly. He was in ICU for, I seem to recall a few days, and then died. He actually called me from the ICU (he was really incoherent) and asked me to bring him some pain pills (I know that makes no sense). We said good bye and the next day when I went to see him they would not let me in. He was gone the next day.
