Do you really need two ice cream cones a day? Total waste of calories. Pure garbage. You think, it's only 300 calories total, but after 10 days that 3000 calories, after 100 days its 30000 calories, in a year it's over 100000 calories. It adds up to a lot of wasted calories fast.
You bring up an excellent point.
Do I really need them.... well no lol...... Is my lack of willpower sickening to the point that I feel I need them.... yes

I would like to, at one point, cut them down to just 1 a day.... and then eventually none..... But My cravings just start to kick in and I go a bit crazy.... I've said this many time, my main problem is discipline. Hell even during contest preps I've had my moments of total breakdowns and binge eating in the dark hoping not to be caught by my wife

OTH, my views tend to line up very closely with yours on this subject. But, don't you think 300g protein is way too much for a fat natural like ACH (no offense buddy!) ? His body isn't nearly as efficient with glycogen turnover and protein synthesis as guys juicing.
No offense taken. I've been as high as 400 g of protein per day, 300 g actually sits very well with me, especially when I'm dieting. In the past, contest preps for me have always always been: High Protein (300-400 g), moderate fats, low to no carbs.
But I guess you can say I'm trying something new. If we are to believe the research is correct.... a calorie is a calorie.... then controlling caloric intake is my first priority.... my second priority is staying within my listed macros which are distributed as, high carbs, moderate protein, low fat.
A big question I have is.... Is 2500 calories where I should be right now?

? Is it too much??? Is it too little?

I've never been able to properly assess where I should start with a diet when it came to caloric consumption.
And to be clear.... my goals are not to be super lean or anything like that.....
I'm 19-20% bf right now at 234 lbs.... I would like to be 12-15% and sitting at around 220 lbs!!! Nothing unreasonable here!!! But I am hoping to maintain as much muscle as I can (or even gain some) while shedding this fat.
Also, would it be a good idea to add in a fat-burner right now? Or is it too early?
Agree hence my orginal question about what he's basing his BMR on....if it's true lean mass, then he shouldn't need more than 200g protein daily (around 1g per pound LBW) and 200g carbs.
