Where I work most people say good morning.

I hear America is leading the world in depression and depression medication, maybe that has something to do with it?

a lot of people get diagnosed with "Depression", and get on "Disability" so they don't have to work. So there are the legit people and then the people who fake it---either way, it's money in the pocket of the drug companies...Drugs will be one of America's downfalls.

getbiggers wake up and ask the two to three "10s" in their bed two things...

1) What are your names?

2) Where is my breakfast?

Then we get some skull while checking getbig on the phone, enjoying the aroma as the lesser endowed "10" prepares 18 egg white omelette.

3) Be sure to mix my protein shake just right

4) did IronMeister post any photoshops while I was asleep?

5) Did Sevastase meet Jason Statham?

No one says anything to anybody cause everybody is staring down at their fucking phones all goddamned day, oblivious to everything around them. Wish someone would just corrupt the phone signal that would cause mass brain embolisms for every jerkoff who puts the infernal thing up to their Christiening ear.

No one says it anymore, and when you do, people look at you strange.
I said it this morning, and people had a confused look on their face...

I also notice that, in the office, saying it to the 35 and under females, they will not speak...but if you don't say a word, then they will be the ones to initiate the "Good morning"...
You know, I was raised, that you speak when spoken to...

Strange how manners, and being "happy" has all but disappeared in today's world...

I'm the annoying person in the morning that greets everyone I pass and I say "hello" or "good morning" or "how are you today" etc......

Haha this is what I say to most people. The young kids look at me like I'm a weirdo.

Personally, I like the more exuberant "Top Of the Morning to you" as a greeting, catches people of guard and makes them smile.  Try it with your best Irish accent, you are guaranteed to get a few smiles.   ;D

Some people may not understand that you're wishing them a good morning.  They may think you're making a declarative statement that they don't want to endorse.

People say it back to me and usually smile when doing it. I assume it probably helps if you're not a creepy weirdo

I greet everyone I can at work and most of the time I get a greeting in return. I will say that even after doing this 5-6 days a week for a year I still get funny looks when I do it. The folks who're Spanish speaking almost always respond and do so warmly.

yep, that's one thing, the ones who speak Spanish, do respond, in manner in which you described.
