Obama has earned every ounce of disdain heaped on him by his actiions.  He has lied, deceived, and been as bad if not worse than W at his worst

If W's lying about weapons of mass destruction isn't worse than an umbrella..... send the President a bill for all the space he's occupying in your mind. :)

If W was lying than so was Clinton, and Great Britain, and the UN.

You fancy yourself as some kind of intelligent individual, but then you show your stupidity by making this statement.

You make fun of 3333's disdain for the current president, yet show the same disdain for Bush while ignoring the facts that many people in this government as well as people in governments of other nations believed that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. If that wasn't the case Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden wouldn't have voted in favor of going to war with Iraq. Or are they as naive as you?

By the way, I don't care if a marine holds an umbrella for any president.

Is it possible to have a normal life after eight years of nonstop meltdowns and frantic whining?

I'm being completely serious here.  You waste eight years.   Eight.  Fucking.  Years.  that you will never get back of your life sitting on different internet boards whining, crying, LYING... nonstop about a black man.  And then what?

Meh.  I still think it's disrespectful.  If Bush, Reagan, etc. asked service members to hold an umbrella over their head, I think that was disrespectful too.  Nothing earth shattering.  Just disrespectful.

Would depend on how it happened I guess.  But this isn't a "scandal."

Doesn't mean we cannot talk about it though.   :)

I see no point giving a stupid thread thoughtful responses. That was made that clear earlier.

My guess is Hillary Clinton wanted to look capable of using military force because she wanted to be president. Biden said he would have never voted for the use of military force knowing what a mess things would have been.

The WMDs Saddam purchased from us were used-up against the Kurds.

lmao at "warriors".  ::) sounds to me like you want to the people to serve YOU, not the other way around. also dignity and self-worth? again, it's the PRESIDENT. i thought they taught you guys humility and knowing your place in the corps, i guess not.

haha and get court martialed shortly thereafter.
Never said I wouldn't follow the order, nor did I say it wasn't his order to give. Just that it's pretty demeaning for a man trained to fight, to be ordered to hold an umbrella like a fuckin' butler.

too who? it should be an honor, that is the most powerfulman in the world, your CC. The fact that it's being raised now indicates a racial issue since it is common for this to occur. I don't see any disrespect, I bet the marine was more then happy to do it.

i honestly don't get this military worship and entitlement that goes on exclusively in america (and is a fairly recent thing, too). in countries with compulsory service, it's seen as a service industry with a high turnover as something for younger people to go through and make some money while at the same time serving a purpose (maintaining national defense), similar to the food service industry. you are serving the people, not the other way around. and the uniform doesn't carry some god-tier status because everyone had to do it.

but here anyone that passes basic is automatically a rock star that wants peasants to bow down before them. plus you get free college and pension and crazy real estate benefits, people all flock to the military for all the wrong reasons, you get too many careerists trying to make a job out of it, minorities looking to make a quick buck, etc. no wonder the US military is so terribly inefficient and mismanaged and plagued with crime and gang problems.

plus it creates a huge divide between the civilian and military worlds. all the while the government tries to take the civilians' guns, making that alienation even deeper. whatever happened to "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state..."?

honestly i think they should just bring back compulsory service, or if not that than at least make everyone pass basic. then you wouldn't have such a fucking huge obesity problem, and such a huge limp-wristed liberal anti-gun pussy protectionist culture, and such a hardcore neo-con military glamorization culture.

I think you're completely backwards with my point here. We do look at it like we serve the citizens, because we do. As a matter of fact, I would have no problem holding an umbrella for an elderly woman.
I don't elevate politicians of any sort to any sort of status. Why would I hold them in higher regard than the citizens they are elected to represent? I'm sorry that I wouldn't feel honored to be ordered to hold an umbrella for a man who just happened to be elected president.

well because you swear an oath to him, don't you?

besides, it's not the man himself but the office and what it represents. i fucking HATE obama with a passion but if he asked me to hold an umbrella for him, i'd do it in a heartbeat. it's patriotic. biden on the other hand can go fuck himself.
