It was 10 years ago and I was really into bodybuilding and loved reading MD. Times have changed and so did I, learning the truth about bodybuilding really alters ones view.

I am not sure what the truth about bodybuilding is.

I used to subscribe to Men's health which is not exactly a bodybuilding magazine but there were some good articles about diet and exercise in it. After several years getting the subscription, it started seeming redundant, so I stopped it. I've never read MD, so I really cannot comment on that magazine. There are clearly some "bodybuilding" magazines on the newsstands that are anything but. I don't bother with those. I looked at that shit when I was a kid and somehow must have thought they were inspirational. When I was a kid, was a very long time ago. These were "physique" magazines and yes, they were pretty gay now that I think about it. Still I bought them with no guilt or sense that I was doing something that would cause strangers to label me. Actually, I pretty much have never given a shit what people I don't even know think about me.

Not that I know everything there is to know about bodybuilding, but I know enough to keep my workouts interesting fresh. I know enough to know what I should and should not eat, not that I follow a strict diet. If you've seen my photos, you already know this though. Anyway, I think a lot of the articles in bodybuilding magazines are not worth the paper they are printed on. You can learn more from talking with someone at the gym who has a good build and who seems to know their way around the weights and machines. Most of successful bodybuilding is just common sense, in my opinion.

Perhaps pro bodybuilding is some or all of these things, I don't really have any way of knowing for sure, one way or the other. Lot's of folks, like me, lift just to be healthier and/or look better. I am not a power lifter, although I am reasonably strong. I would classify myself as more of a bodybuilder or fitness buff.

I have never done G4P. Any drugs I take have always been prescribed by my doctor for various reasons, but not to make me into a cartoon superhero type bodybuilder. When I was a teenager and the doctor prescribed D-bol, it was to help me add some weight because I was emaciated. Currently, I inject 100 mg of test cyp every other week to treat low testosterone levels. The testosterone shots are prescribed to me by my urologist.

LET'S EXAM THAT STATEMENT:

1-- "The truth I speak of is that bodybuilding is all drugs..."//  WRONG--   BODYBUILDING IS 80% DRUGS/CHEMICALS AND 20% DEDICATION.

2-- "...and lots of gay antics going on such as gay 4 pay."//  RIGHT--   EXAMPLE: JUST CHECK OUT THE LINE UP FOR THE NY PRO-- IN PARTICULAR #4- HW DIVISION.  JUST GO TO THE COMPUTER AND PUNCH IN THE NAME AND GAY PORN AND SEE WHAT COMES UP.

I think this is what Ed Conners meant when he stated his next project was to change the face of bodybuilding!!!

Wasn't this a joke on Jimmy Kimmel live? I doubt it has much to do with professional bodybuilding....although it might be fun for some people.  ;D
