When he was younger...
Labs are the best dogs. I have a 13 yr old lab and had a lab mix who was a couple years younger but died of cancer in 09. The 13 yr old is very smart also. When I would give both dogs rawhides to chew on my lab would devour hers in 30 mins, the other guy would take forever to make a dent in it. So my 13 yr ols was smart enough to realize the other dog couldn't take his rawhide out the back door doggie door (she would hold hers like a cigar and do it no problem). So after she chewed half her rawhide and his was practically new, she would run out the back door, knowing he would follow her out to play. She would stand on the side of the door, wait for him to drop his inside, come dashing out to play, and she would run back in , grab his rawhide and jump on the couch with a new rawhide
. he would come in run up to her and be like WTF! haha was the best to see how smart she was about thinking that whole situation through. Alas he was'nt quite as smart since I had witnesses her do this to him way too many times
