He's no Van Halen or Yngwie Mamlsteen.  He had a few albums.  If he wasn't black, he'd barely stand out.
Playing the guitar behind your head, not epic.  I like his playing, but waaay over rated to me...maybe not you though.
THE WAY EDDIE VAN HALEN..plays ,sound, style, and not classic stylings as his idol Clapton ,found that one strange his influence.eddie since he cleaned up live sounds great again,he was a mess for a long time...guy too me is still incredible.

Lars Ulrich ? The rich kid who bought his way into a rock band ?

Let me put it like this......I'm a better drummer than Lars Ulrich, and i can't play the drums.

He's varied quite a bit in his ability. The drums on "... And Justice For All" are very technical. As the songs got simpler he let his craft fall by the way side.

If drums were cheap, the blacks would take over as "the best". Drumming is embedded in their DNA.

I laugh how some still consider rock musicians the elementary version of their peers in jazz, etc. In case you weren't paying attention, rock musicianship, especially in metal forms, has become every bit as technically accomplished as that found in more "sophisticated" genres. Different perhaps, but no less impressive.

Nice! Song sounded like I'm a Man by Chicago!

Yeah, they draw a lot from 60s-70s bands. I stumbled on to them in a small club in NYC. I've seen them a bunch of times when there was hardly anyone in the room. It's pretty cool to see them playing 2-3k venues.

This vid is incredible.

I don't know what's better the rare Keith Moon drum solo or the people dancing to it.

The band I mentioned earlier in the thread, The London Souls, just finished a tour opening for the Black Crowes. They also just appeared on the Arte Lange show.

Some cool drumming in this clip, although the sound could've been louder:

The best? Music is entirely subjective.

No wonder there are so many genres.

No wonder the music stores have aisles and aisles full of different kinds of music.

But, as far as drumming goes, I suppose my "Favorites" might be deemed "The best" ~ but really it's just a matter of opinion.

It is pretty funny... especially as a guitar player.

Without reading through I'll bet Yngwie and EVH were mentioned?

He doesn't.

He is really good for what he does, totally, but in the overall scheme of monster drummers, he's nowhere. Fantastic power player, though. As well, one also has to consider that, more than likely, the man doesn't practice and devote his existence to the instrument. If he did, who knows how accomplished he could become.
