Never been to America but IMO Norway was the best country I lived in, great people, clean air, decent salary and safe, was lucky enough to spend two and a half years there in my mid twenties, sometimes regret leaving, Australia would be a close second.

I'm extra edgy tonight. There was a time when the notion of a country was real, but it's as hollow and silly as a feifdom or a kingdom anymore.

I guess the difference is a place united by something real vs a place glued together by bullshit.

One study looked at factors such as happiness, healthcare, job security, etc, and America was not number 1. Take that as you wish. I guess it depends on the individual, really.

I have always dreamed of visiting Italy and Greece (ancient history buff). I can only imagine if I were born there. They had theatres built for accoustic sound, over 2,000 years ago! An actors dream.

I've met a lot of people from NZ. They all say it's beautiful but there's no money and cost of living is high.

On average, the countries in Nordic/northern European areas always score well and hold their positions through multiple years. American does ok, we are usually in the middle or lower in top ten type lists.

I lived in NZ for about a year, loved it, but as you stated, the opportunity for work is low and the cost of living is a bit higher than you would expect. Most Kiwi's jump ship and go to Australia as soon as they can as work is much more available there.

Absolutely. It has its problems, but is far and away better than any other country on earth. All the other nations on earth obsess about us, their news always includes the US and its doings, and its citizenry want to come here in a bad way.

There is no argument to be had. If you say another country is better than the US, you are wrong.
