It isn't the best film ever by any means.

It sure as hell is the most awesome film ever by light years.

It is awesome layered on top of awesome fueled by a meth/coke concoction like nothing else before. If you have ever liked robots, mechs, or monster movies/cartoons at any point in your life...go see this. I am so freaking jealous of my 4 year old for this film existing in her pre-teen life. I would be a different person today if I had Pacific Rim and not the trash that the US version of Godzilla was.

Go see it.

Yes, when we were young, we had the Japanese Godzilla, Robotech, Voltron etc

Now they have Pacific Rim...

Solid plot, and some great visuals. A real popcorn actioner. Also, if you thought Ironman 3 was pandering to the East with it's separate 'Chinese version,' Pacific Rim will please with a script loaded with ideals like honour, respect, family values, commitment, cooperation, etc. Hell, our heroes didn't even kiss at the end.

Good flick.  Too bad the studio had a poor marketing campaign. It needs to gross $400M to be profitable.  Personally, I can only hope Godzilla 2014 is as good. Monsters and bots were excellent.
