It looks to me like they are going for a "The Dark Knight Returns" style Batman who was a little overweight.

I'm not saying I think it's a good idea but it's a possible explanation.

Michael keaton had more presence and acting chops in his big toe compared to arsefleck.
Josh brolin should have got the gig, he kicked arse in oldboy.

Brolin is a great leading man and should definitely gotten this part over Ben Afflic-ted with gyno.

Have you seen the first official pic posted by zac snyder? He's got a very beefy muscle suit on complete with thick gh gut like midsection

He won't need to work out. He will always be in Batmans musclesuit. Otherwise in a Tuxedo during a Bruce Wayne Fundraiser or similar.

It's not like he's going to the Gym with Kal-El in the movie, or heading to Mirage Hotel with paperbags...

Three or four weeks on the sauce and he will be ready for the obligatory shirtless scene. It could have been shot and it's already in the can. Now he just has to film the in the batman suit and clothes scenes. I guarantee he will be a Hollywood muscle marvel for the shirtless scenes.

I hate temporary steroid muscles. Can't wait to see him on late night and Ellen pushing the movie while the dopey audience goes nuts over the shirtless picture of him while he sits there soft and pudgy with shirt on.
