Because I have duties but believe me dying would be better, you are right about that concept, as much as I love life and think it is good, what God has planned for us after death is better.

I do believe this will make the actual dying part a little less distressing. That's about it, though.

When a person has no concept of anything beyond the death in this life I can understand how ridiculous it would appear for someone else to be excited about what lies ahead after that death. 

For me, I simply humbled myself to the idea that there must to be something more that what I understood if others were willing to give their lives for the will of Jesus Christ......and were happy about it LOL.

strange is something that rarely happens, you know 1 in a million is strange but when half the world thinks this way I find it highly inappropriate for you to classify it as strange. Thinking there is nothing after death to me sounds strange as well.

I am not trolling or have anything against you but what you think sounds so strange to me, how you think it ends all at death is the strangest thing in the world to me, but hey to each their own, your entitled to your beliefs.

I agree, I do not know, my belief is based on faith.

As for checking out, it does not work that way, lol, we have duties here and are judged on both are selfishness and selflessness.

I'm sorry, I'm afraid that that can't be what happened. If it were, you would be willing to change your belief(s) regarding Jesus given that the 'willing to give their lives and be happy about it' criterion for the veracity of beliefs is actually much, much more in favor of Al Qaeda's core beliefs -- to say nothing of a huge variety of historical belief systems. Since this won't happen anytime soon, you obviously didn't use that criterion to determine your belief (or at least, you aren't using it to maintain said belief).

It is also apparently the case that you won't change your beliefs for literally any reason whatsoever, whether said reasons be derived from history, science, logic, or everyday experience.* These beliefs are seemingly completely inaccessible to the faculties that typically produce reasoned thought in cognitive systems like ours. And that's an interesting phenomenon that I hope cognitive psychologists can provide insights on some day.

*This is easily confirmed: no matter what any scientist says, you aren't going to say, "Ah, my relationship with God was an illusion this whole time!" and so on for any other reason proffered. Surely you would agree that this is the case?

Great logic. People believe a lot of things that arent true, and just because the vast majority believe something, doesnt make it true.
