Jay has definitely pikced up the pace in the last few weeks, again I don't think he will win but wish him the best.

I think Jay is coming in nicely. If he nails the diuretics he could be a contender.

He still looks a bit behind in prep.  But it would awesome if all the pics and videos he has released were actually 3-4 weeks older than what is claimed.  Make it look like he isn't peaking in time and the other people write him off.  Step on stage and smoke everyone.

He will be ripped, but not as big.  That's been my prediction.  He keeps saying "I'm not coming in small", but what BBer would ever say "I'm coming in 15 pounds smaller than everyone else".

Say what you want, but a Mr. Olympia should train in a much more POWERFUL and MANLY way. As has been said, his exercise selection is for average gym wankers, who never get anywhere.

Guy shrinks like mad then goes back on boatloads of drugs and does mousy weight-training workouts ... and again gets huge. With good structural and response genetics, any form of resistance training will build the body. Jay's proof.

Not that everyone here doesn't know this. It's just that, for me, professional bodybuilding has become generally unimpressive.

Don't care if it's required or not. A potential Mr. Olympia needs to deadlift, barbell row and squat to earn my respect. Not that they have to earn my anything, of course.

But this horseshit just stinks.

back in the day, BBers tried to keep that facade alive... fake weights... they'd be ripped as shit, shoulder pressing 4 plates a week from the O :)

Now, it's like "hey, I'm doing 11 sets on the Hammer Strength, then it's off to the masseuse."   Eew.

I know all about the balsa wood plates, my friend. Believe me. But I also know there were more than a few champion bodybuilders in the game's glory days who lifted a TONNE in their offseason.

Unbelievable nonsense. Jay simply has to do what is necessary and sufficient to compete. He doesn't have to do deadlifts and other dangerous lifts. Obviously he is smarter than the typical gym rat who gets no where.

Basile will comment with something stupid like he did above.

Fact of the matter is this is lazy training, no matter how close you are to a contest.

I have seen 14 year old teenagers who weigh 130 pounds do lunges with a 50 pound barbell.

There is a difference between remaining "safe in terms of weights/exercise before a contest" and "pure laziness."

This is pure laziness, and letting the drugs do the job for him.
