If GH and insulin are so good for building muscle..
« on: October 18, 2013, 04:46:14 PM »
Why do teenage girls who produce a good amount of each actually lose relative muscle vis a vis pre pubescent girls, and teenage boys who produce more testosterone but arguably the same relative level of insulin and only produce GH at the same amounts as the girls but for about 4 years longer have much more relative muscle mass?  Just really puzzling.

The human body is a system, you'll never understand it looking at each process individually in isolation

I remember talking this over with milos years ago and he quoted me some odd numbers like "16mg/g carb gets taken into the muscle cell, ect... " but, what't the threshold?

makes you rethink the need for carbohydrates at all.

not that I'm gonna cut out carbs, since it is kcals and somehow keeps me full... but also makes me wonder if the carbs are only in the blood, not the muscle.. I dunnoo........ I remember waking up one night years ago wondering about that. lol... and it's been in the back of my mind since.

There is no need for carbohydrates. The body can get all the carbs it needs from proteins and fats.
Even when you're a big dude you can eat enough for full glycogen filling of the muscle. You'd need to have at least 600-700g of protein a day though. Fairly impractical but that amount of eating should allow you enough glucose to even use insulin lol. Personally I do a cyclic keto diet. I eat about 500g a day in protein and carb up once a week. Works well for getting leaner while maintaining my strength. May even be a bit bigger too but it's probably the extreme carb ups

i did high protein moderate fat low carb diet made me ripped as hell but no fullness I looked normal wearing clothes.

then stage 2 I did the high carbs moderate protein low fat just after the first diet after discussing it with a friend.

I got bigger and fuller and and more ripped than ever and vascular.

had to buy new tshirs and clothes.

when I washed my hands people commented how my vains were popping all over and once someone asked me if it hurts.

I did the high carb diet again but it didn't work like last time so I guessed let's do the the same route again and it seems working now but still at stage one.

well, while you're pondering....

if "glucose loading" and "glycogen uptake" is such a big deal, then why don't I see any carbohydrate's listed on my package of chicken breasts or steak? or are humans the only animals with sugar in their muscles?... or does all the sugar drain out of the chicken and beef flesh as soon as they die?

what do you think of vitargo? Of course after you preload it for a week? I thought you worked with supplements and vitargo CGL was one of my absolute favorites.

all this stuff about how

"insulin forces sugar into the muscle", ect... well, our bodies produce insulin naturally, along with chickens, right? well, why isn't there sugar in their meat?

wouldn't a chicken pumped full of insulin have nice sweet breasts? (haha)

.... it's things like this that keep me up at night. lol. that, and what color pants i'm wearing tomorrow, or if I remembered to take my Levitra. ;D

There is sugar in the meat. It's just that glycogen is mainly water. 3-4ml per 1g of carbs. It's such a small amount.
Carb loading is important but you can still build muscle without it just fine. It's only a cosmetic thing. If you want to be full all the time with good pumps and vascularity then you need to keep glycogen stores full. Mine stay full with high volume heavy powerlifting training just eating carbs once a week. If it's not that important to look your best all the time then low carb is great, imo
