Rockel is like the Zane or Labrada of this era.  No weak points to speak of, decent size, near-perfect balance and symmetry and great conditioning--in other words, all the right stuff that bodybuilding USED to be about.

And he didn't even make the top 15 in the 05 Olympia.

The Olympia judges really had their heads up their asses and they should have to account for their decisions but apparently they can call it any way they damn well please with impunity.

Zack made some good points.  In many cases the current group of judges seem to be muscle worshippers rewarding sheer mass above the ideal combination of size, condition, aesthetics and overall balance.

When Ronnie turns to the back he does not look as good. Also he is quite narrow. The good thing is that he always come in condition. Still he is good for a top 15 at the O though! ;)

Gonna get ready for the flames.....

But I wouldn'tve complained if this guy won the O. he was in great condition,  asthetically pleasing physique, symetrical. and while smaller that some of the guys, he's still a big guy. and size should not be the olny determining factor of who wins

What's the major difference between Melvin and Ronnie? Is it size? Is it when they turn around? I don't think Ronnie looks worse than Melvin from the front... Melvin finished 7th and Ronnie 17th...  ???

Well...Ronnie is shorter and his back isn't as good as melvins.  Other than that Ronnie looks better, better conditioning too.  But Melvin has been around longer and gets more press...


...And he has a reaaly fancy cape...
