right right.  they're now all editorialists.  give me a fucking break.  if you were to ask her what she does for a living she would tell you that she's a journalist and she delivers news.  but she acts like she's preaching from the pulpit.

She doesn't "deliver the news"

Her show on msnbc is considered a news and opinion show but she isn't doing traffic, weather (unless perhaps it's a major storm or something) or "cat in a tree" stories

She is a professor of political science at Tulane and formerly an associate professor of political science at Princeton

It was forced on them

really?

Quote
With American credit markets dried up, Honda is seeking money from the Japanese government to help finance auto loans in the US, reports the Wall Street Journal. The Japanese government is planning to offer $5 billion through a semi-governmental organization, and Toyota is planning to seek funds as well.

She needs to be fired. The news is supposed to present objective, unbiased information, but most of it is now just a collection of liberal leaning obama worshippers. Its getting closer and closer to a russian style state-controlled propaganda outlet.

right but they can always call it "political commentary".  it's just that even ridiculous claims like the ones she's making get to air because they want to feed the beast.  who's a news anchor anymore?

Apparently Ford, BMW and Toyota got government money and Honda asked for money from the Japanese government

http://jalopnik.com/5704575/ford-bmw-toyota-took-secret-government-money

http://www.newser.com/story/52383/honda-hops-on-bailout-bandwagon.html

Those were not grants that allowed government ownership of those companies as it did in GM.

They were LOANS for the credit arms of the company. Not for manufacturing or research and development aspect of those companies.

Any company that is going to receive a loan at a lower interest is going to take it. But that money you point out was not the "HANDOUT" portion of TARP where the company gave up share of its operations to the government.

Completely different. THESE ARE NOT BAILOUTS!

AND it still doesn't change the fact that the industry would still have survived without the TARP.

What? Do you think all of the sudden we would be riding horses and donkeys?

This is considered a bailout?
According to the data, from October 2008 through June 2009 the fed bought $45.1 billion in commercial paper from the credit arms of four automakers - Ford, BMW, Chrysler and Toyota - along with GMAC

 ::)

If it was a bailout, how come the government didn't get a share of those companies?

who says I don't think they are just as ridiculous?  why do you assume I patronize their television shows?

And if they both have ridiculous political commentary why do you refer to Fox News as "faux news" and not have a similarly cute derogatory term for MSNBC?  Is it because you won't agree that she's ridiculous because you agree with her?

you see I have the benefit of not feeling like i'm forced to swing from the nuts of a political party.  it must suck to feel the need to defend that shit all the time.

Did GM come to the government begging for a bailout?

yet Fox News is "faux news" to you but you don't denigrate MSNBC at all.  why?

they both claim to be "news" stations and both of them allow 90% of their time to be occupied by "political commentary" that borders on fanatical.  so again.  why do you denigrate Fox News and not MSNBC?

I completely disagree that 90% of MSNBC content is fanatical political commentary

I doubt Faux News even reaches that level though they far exceed MSNBC

Again, apparently you don't understand that my first post on this thread is disagreeing with a commentator on MSNBC

I don't watch either of them.  Hayes, Sharpton, Mathews and Perry are unbearable to watch.  Olbermann was easier to stomach than those buffoons.  There isn't an original though among them. It's ultra-left wing propaganda.

yup.  Olbermann was a dick and I didn't agree with much of what he believes but at least he got there by way of intelligence and wit.  those others are just colorful characters meant to stir up the pot.

it's definitely used as a pejorative (just like Romneycare) but it's most definitely not racist

Obama doesn't seem to mind it so this chick should find something else to bellyache about

If she needs some ideas she should spend some time on this board and look at how truly world class crybabies spend their day crying about irrelevant shit 24/7
hey we agree!!!

someone write that down, on December 9th, 2013 tonymctones and strawman agreed on something
