He isn't even consistent with his lies or beliefs, that's a sign of a stupid human, they need others to inform them.

right and you fail to see that there are many people who get rich off of socialism.  it's simply a different group of people.  I think its funny how you think all our ills will be cured with socialism.  its like you're 3 years old.

Do you have a lot of Christians shoving the Bible in your face?  If so, can you give a few examples?  Interested to hear your experiences.

Few examples..

Every Department promotional ceremony, every Department graduation ceremony, almost every family gathering, ocassionally it comes up during social gatherings and I'm assumed to share their personal belief and find myself almost having to defend why I don't believe in a supernatural spirit like they do. School sporting events, school graduations, typical conversations after a natural disaster or school shooting on why it would have been much worse if God hadn't existed..Billboards along the highways  things like that.. Texas is chest deep in this Jesus thing and wear it like a crown

In fact, I find the fact Christians think their belief is under assault laughable.. they have for years beat people over the head with their belief and when people finally have had enough they whine about their religion being attacked... irony

Most of that sounds like people just making expressions of faith rather than proselytizing.

What happens at the department promotional and graduation ceremonies?

Usually held in a church, always started and ended with a prayer to jesus. I feel like a captive audience. I came for the ceremony, and I feel forcing people to listen to a group of people going through a meaningless religious ritual that even contradicts their own gods teaching is unneccessary and rude.

Thanks for sharing that.

We all have different perspectives and tolerance levels.  I've participated in a Buddhist prayer and it didn't bother me at all.  I had to listen to Muslim prayers blasted over loud speakers and, although it initially irritated me, I came to respect their devotion.

I participated in a Bar Mitzvah and wasn't offended at all.

Sounds like you were choosing those...I participated in a Buddhist funeral. That was my choice, I don't count that.

Not all of them, but I'm adult so I wasn't "forced" to participate.  I did it out of respect.

Ever think about extending that respect to the un-faithful?

I do it all the time.  Who I don't respect are paranoid anti-religious extremists who go around the country crying about something they don't believe in, filing lawsuits, etc.

Ever think about respecting people of faith?

So these wusses feel "forced", insulted or that christianity is being "shoved" in their faces  just because they see a cross in public, a bible used in a political/graduation ceremony, and some christian billboards?

Bunch of chumps.

I respect people not beliefs. Each person is unique, the new pope for example is someone I would respect very much and do. He is about it, negro sneaks out at night and helps the poor.

Filing lawsuits to remove the overreaching of religion? like putting your religious symbol on shared property? that type of lawsuit? why wouldn't you respect fairness and justice?

The minute you guys get push back you run around crying. Public property is not your's, nor is it a christian piece of land. I like whats going on, I would prefer to push a muslim agenda to see you guys squirm. Imagine if the cross was taken down for a muslim symbol? I wonder what the christians would be saying.

I respect both people and their beliefs.  Unlike liberals who preach (but rarely practice) tolerance, I have no problem accepting and respecting people who have beliefs that differ from mine, including my atheist and agnostic friends.  I'm not threatened by them at all.

I like what I've heard about the new pope too.

Yes, going around the country looking for religious symbols and claiming they are harmed is stupid.  We have a guy here who spends an inordinate amount of life doing that crap.  Two examples are crying about state legislators who had a fish symbol on their office door.  Really??

Another was finding a cross on an Army base, up at the top of a hiking trail.  Talk about someone who needs to get a life.

I am not tolerant of childish idiots who claim things like god has told me, god has a plan. It's delusion by definition, you can't speak to god because I can't and if you want to test it let's get er done.

You are so use to having things your way that you use these examples of proof of needing a life, when really it's an example of overreaching, why put a cross there? it's a fucking hiking trail, fuck off with god. What if you walked up a trail and it had muslim designations, you wouldn't find that odd? You have a sense of entitlement like a child, most religious do, you aren't special.

I don't preach blind tolerance, I don't tolerate religion, I don't

You are the epitome of intolerance.  Cannot really add anything more to what you posted.  Says a lot.  Unfortunately, there are a handful of others like you in the U.S. who go around the country using/abusing the court system.

Hey maybe you should join one of those atheist churches so you and likeminded people can spend more time talking about something you don't believe in?

Unlike you I don't pretend to be "tolerant", I am intolerant to some things, tolerant to other, it's called being able to think. I am intolerable to the relgious whining I hear and the attack on christmas, but I am tolerant of your right to religion, assembly and practice, just keep it to yourself.

You are trolling with the last line, an idea is imaginary but is certainly worth discussing. What you are stating here is that things that don't actually exist, ie concrete are a waste of time talking about. is that your contention? Thus only those things that "exist" exert any influence on things that  "exist".

say what you want dude.  it's not a coincidence nor does it surprise me that your beliefs fall directly in line with the new age commercial brand of liberalism that we see being pushed on us on tv everyday.

I don't pretend to be tolerant.  I actually practice it.  I live it.  You don't.  But that's ok.  There are others like you, which is why I recommended the atheist churches. http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=505682.0

You'd probably find some kindred spirits.

My contention is people who organize, protest, and define themselves based on something they don't believe in is laugh out loud funny.   :)

I dont; practice tolerance, you have it in some areas and not in others.

You practice tolerance? are you for taking down this cross, if not you are not tolerant as it offends people who aren't christian that they are paying for a christian monument. You are showing zero fucking tolerance there, you are being the one tolerated.

"My contention is people who organize, protest, and define themselves based on something they don't believe in is laugh out loud funny. "

Your right, why would anyone protest the religious? it's not like they are flying planes into buildings? burning witchs etc. I mean there clearly are no real world consquences to those beliefs right?  Maybe you should go back to elementary school, might find some kindred spirits and some stimulating intellectual convesation.

Your religion isn't even fucking tolerant, all those who disagree go to hell, quite the tolerant god you got there. Must be where you keen sense of tolerance comes from.
