Steph Daniels: Since you've been around pretty much all of modern MMA's history, as well as the dark ages, how do you view the current land scape?

Josh Barnett: I think we're on a bubble. We've gotten to quite a high level with interest and saturation, but I think we're at a bubble where we're really floating around the ceiling, and we're just not quite there to break through, and go to that next level.

What's necessary to get past that, is a complex question, and would involve a lot of speculation, but I do think that we're at a ceiling right now, and we need to find a way to get through that.

MMA is as popular as it's going to get.  The days of it being the future and it killing boxing were 5 years ago.

Both sports are here to stay.  They share the fighting landscape and that's not a bad thing.

Bruce Lee would be pleased with the development of MMA  and it's going mainstream I think, he was always talking about being the "complete" fighter etc... too bad he didn't live to see it happen, the man was and still is a big influence on the martial arts as was Chuck Norris, Judo Gene,Bill Wallace, Joe Lewis, Ed Parker..... those old timers were truly BA

No, but I did grapple with Josh a lot. He killed me. Too much size. Too much strength. Too much every thing. If I could go 30 minutes with him and not get subbed, I was doing great. I really like him. I hope he wins the UFC Belt again.
