I did 10 lb lateral raises today in a different way that I never have before.  Learned it from a Lifetime Natural.  Crazy intense burning and can`t even lift my arms up.  I normally could go up to 40s and 45s with okay form and I would feel it, but not near as much.

Adam isn't that pic like 10 years old? Do you have any knew ones to show your progres?

Nah thats from 2009.

I look the same.  No real progress to report.  Well some, but not noticeable to anyone but me.

I`ve looked the same for years with periods of extreme bulking years ago in between the epic leans.

I really wish I could have all that time wasted back.  Whats the point of moving a weight from point A to point B if you really aren`t getting much benefit.  Why would anyone want to be the best at exercising?  :D

I only do lunges, SLDL, calf raises, push-ups, pull-ups, and dips for the last year or so.  I look about the same as when I was trying to "lift big" oh brother.

I still train with the compound lifts, go heavy as I can but really focus on technique and form.  If I find a better way to do an exercise that lets me lower the weight and makes it more difficult, then all the better as far as I am concerned.

I have done, and still can use some pretty decent poundages in my workouts, but from a pure hypertrophy standpoint, curling the 70 pounders for 5 reps, with a bit of "controlled cheating" as Arnold called it,followed by a mega-slow negative, only kept me strong or got me stronger, the 30-40 pound dumbells for 12 reps, tax my biceps far better because I`m concentrating on contracting and stretching the biceps as opposed to just trying to muster up the weight.

More control,better mind/muscle connection,better form,better contraction,better pump,better biceps.

To each his own.

What's the point of being able to move big weight from point A to point B if you look like a fat fuck ?

Spare me the pics of powerlifters in good shape...we all know that's the exception.

Adam,I use that back training technique shown in the 2nd. vid you posted.....good stuff, and it really helps a person to feel their back actually working..........I think achieving a good mind/muscle connection in the back is the hardest of any bodypart.....mainly because people go too heavy.

Not many people can get a tight pumped feeling in their upper backs like they would in their quads or arms.

I`ll have to check out the other vids later on.

Its a world of difference training like that, especially on that Lat Pulldown.  Even just sitting in a chair, without weight doing the motion as presented in the video you feel it.  It unlocks all the muscle.  In the past, I used to load up the Lat Pulldown like a fool and go at it.  If you do it the way it should be done, like you and the video, its impossible to sling the weight around.

Vicsnatural has some awesome advice and he presents it such a great fashion.  He really knows his stuff and I love all his videos.

Another great Lifetime Natural who does the same sort of thing is Athlean X.  His techniques are awesome!  He is highly intelligent.

Enough of these decades old pics. I have a feeling that there is a very good reason you stopped posting recent pics years ago.

BTW, I'm doing the same thing with lateral raises because of Chiro. Except I have to use 8lb dumbbells.

Pure laziness really (don`t have much interest in doing so as I train for myself only), but rest assured I look the same, always do with the exception of my "Powerlifting" forays of self gorging to Deadlift 600.  (I don`t do that anymore of course).

I do think my legs have gotten a bit bigger, but other than that, about the same.

As Arthur Jones noted, there is a difference between developing strength and demonstrating strength. I look at all these activities: moving tires, wheel barrels, pushing cars, even all that Cross Fit stuff; as just activities that serve no practical purpose but people just do for fun. Just like surfing, mountain climbing and all those things. Stuff you do just to get out there and do something and challenge yourself because you're bored with internet porn. The only issue I have with things like Cross Fit is that it's promoted as a health program. An effective way to get in shape. You don't do something like Cross Fit to get in shape, you get in shape to do Cross Fit.

All those things are fun if that's what you're into but don't con people into thinking it's an optimal way to get in shape.

Adam, try these out on your next back day........really good for isolating mid and lower trap area between the scapula.

Shitty vids I know, but the best I could find without sifting through tons of crap.

im jumping into adams defense.

look, hes natural.he will not make any more prgress, not this life, and hes smart enough to be honest to himself about that and just keeps reasonably lean.

as for the thread haha, heres my training weights.its all high reps slow execution.

biceps 20-45lbs dumbelss

triceps cable work to uhm 110lbs scull crushers

bench no more than 220lbs ever.rather less

shoulders press 1 or 2 paltes a side, side laterals with brutal 20lbs dumbels

squats 1 plate per side.2 on a good day.

back, pullups is the heaviest back exercise i do

thats it,piss easy workout the only hard thing is i do endless sets with small breaks, and outmuscle and outlean any tireflipper out there.

could do much heavier with more rest between sets and with lower reps, but so what and what for
n

Exactly. A power lifter wants to make a life as easy as possible. Someone concerned more with building his body and getting in shape wants to make a lift as difficult as possible.

The resistance is not as important as the intensity of the lift. In fact, the power you can generate, your  output, is often inversely proportional to the intensity of the movement. As you get weaker you have to work harder. If you can do a maximum of 10 reps at 205lb those first few reps are relatively easy and you handily can generate more than 205lb, but as the set wears on your strength, your output, starts to go down, but your intensity starts to increase markedly as you can barely eek out those last few reps.
