It does not matter what you look like before you start bodybuilding. You could be a fat load who ate shit and didn't exercise... but respond to exercise and drugs like mad.
Or be a skinny tit who gains muscle like mad. You don't know until you DO IT.
That's how genetics work. You could look great at a certain age...and not respond to drugs and get stifled. You could use all the drugs in the world and not get there.
That is why the elite in ANYTHING are so few and far between... if it was as easy as:
Hey I am fast when I chase my friend down the street...maybe I will be an Olympic sprinter.
Hey I am 45lbs but ripped...I can be a pro bodybuilder.
Hey I am 300lbs of shit...but if I turn all this fat into muscle I will be Mr. Olympia.
Hey I can shoot free throws...I can play in the NBA.
Hey I am Sev...I do 5 weeks cycles all the time and think I have superior genetics.
See it just doesn't work this way or everyone would excel at shit.
You have too:
Have the genetics.
Have the desire.
Have the knowledge (either your own or good coaches etc.)
Access to the proper equipment and facilities.
Be willing to do what it takes (bash your head into pulp to play in the NFL...use steroids like candy etc.)
Have money...yes money. You can't work a 9-5 and decide your going to be a pro golfer, pro anything, bodybuilder etc.
Durability. This is the difference maker in plenty of people. Good muscles, desire etc. but get hurt all the time.
Good response to training and drugs.
Good decision making skills (think leaving college too early or too late and then your pro career don't get off the ground...not do GFP to get your roids etc. Kai anyone?)
Have family support...it is IMPOSSIBLE to do any of this alone. You need help scheduling, cooking, injecting whatever.
Luck. Pick the right thing...like this fella may waste years thinking he is going to be Dorian Yates, when maybe he could have been a professional baseball player if he invested the same resources into that.
Put your time in... choose early, hope your correct, and stick with it. Big Downs Hill anyone? Chose wrong...then changed and chose wrong again.
Know your real limitations. If you are Genova none of this applies to you because you are delusional and it doesn't matter.
Maybe the MOST IMPORTANT...you need a real mind / body connection. You have to listen to your body. You can not be staying up late, drinking, being hung over and tired and think: I can still go hard at the gym.
Discipline. See above.
Don't listen to a word TA says.
Anything else? This young lad needs true direction.
