the difference is HUGE with box squats. I shake my head at the tiny tits I see bouncing off the bench with far too much weight and horrible form.

I use a 10" box and take 3 seconds to lower, pause a second then squeeze up, 8-10 reps

If you go wide stance, monolift, parallel box with foam etc it becomes much easier, but regular stance with a low box are brutal when done like a bodybuilder not a donut muncher

theres a video on youtube of a legit 700lb Olympic squatter barely making high 5's off a deep box.

Thanks, mawse, now I don't feel so bad.  I do medium stance, release hips, sit back, then squeeze up.  I generally keep the reps under 5 though, often doing 8-10 sets of doubles with a strict minute rest.   Always with cambered bar.

You don't need a video, I spotted him. 8)

As getbig likes to say, 'pics or it didn't happen'...in this case, a video however.

I don't really doubt Coach could do 550, he's a strong dude, but would like to see the vid anyways to see the depth of the squat, stance, etc.

I wouldn't put it past Coach to squat 550. He has a good build for squat in my amateur opinion.  It's harder for taller guys.

So do people who don't even lift...

Why participate in this thread anabolicho if you don't like squatting?  Just stick to the arm don threads.

Cause they use the racks and cages for what they're ment for. Go off for 6-8 months, train correctly and then post the results. I suspect you'd never do that...you'd have to pass up to many black hookers and actually train hard.

Go back to flexing your tiny little 17" arms while jacking off your dealer for bunk steroids and stay out of the racks, analsissyhomo.

You should be more concerned about your back, or lack thereof.

Bump.

Update:  Finally hit 500 lb squat goal.  Technically 495 (5 plates on each side).  Consistently getting it almost every week now.

Nice job..

And Halo (or your gimmick) stay off a thread about lifting weights, go back to your "curls for girls" twink workouts, with the rest of the 16 year olds.
