Most people try to buy flashy, gawdy looking watches to try to make up for the fact that they cannot afford a classy, expensive watch like a Rolex.

So they buy these watches to make it look like they have a lot of money.

I mean, why would you want to be such an extravagant, gawdy looking watch? Looks tacky.  

Rolex are nice. But a total douche watch, and with the stigma of counterfeit rolex, everyone will assume yours is as fake as rich pianas arms.

IWC, or another Omega will be my next large purchase.

Protip. At sub $1000 retail, it doesnt fucking matter who makes the watch. It's not an ultra high end timepiece. A sub $1000 watch (retail) by a swiss manufacturer is nothing special either.

I size coworkers, associates, and people I have done business with, based on suit, the cut, cufflinks if wearing french cuffs, etc.

I had to go out and buy a 350 mont blanc pen when I get to a previous job because that particular "office" was big on pens.
The first time I signed something with my pentel gel pen my supervisor called me out on it for a week.

I guess. I do what I have to do to make the money and live the lifestyle I appreciate living. Tbh I dont mind it in the slightest.

That supervisor mentioned earlier was a douche, an incredibly successful, intelligent, and demanding person though. I was fortunate to work for someone like that. Great guy.

I hope one day you can reach a point to where you can show up to work wearing whatever you want (to an extent) and just be yourself and still be respected. 

I am glad to have a job where people care more about my performance than my look.
