Re: why doesnt pressing give round delts, only laterals?

I used to stick with lots of pressing and i was using really heavy for them.
But my delts were staying small.

But, since changing it to laterals(very light and super strict and 20reps) a lot, my delts has started to grow and my side and front delts are no more my weak bodyparts now.

They are small muscle groups. So its impossible to handle such a heavy weight like some do. OK, if you have very good genetic, they grow in every way.
^^^

This is spot on. I like to do up and down the rack sets, 7 reps per set no rest.

:D

All seated: lateral raise, do a pec fly to move the dumbells in front of you, then a front raise all the way up, then front raise down, do a rear delt fly to bring dumbells back to neutral, then lateral raise down.

Sounds legit. Is there a video of that fucking "natural" Meadows doing these that I can look at?

I don't see the use of it. It seems to stimulate the anterior part of the delts more than the lateral part.

Charles is a respected trainer, but I notice too much bro science in his approach. For example, he speaks about 'the cap of the shoulders'... well, this has nothing to do with anatomy. Being original seems his trade mark, but I see no logic in many cases. The only thing I agree with him, is the importance of mind-muscle connection.

Ronaldo did them his way, and the rest is history...

Big ron did extremely high volume laterals.
Big ron did his sloppy form but i see mind and muscle connection there. If you get that, the form is not so important.

Even if you use pink dumbells and they call you a gay, you must stick with those dumbells when it comes to laterals. Thats a smart choice.

19" arms at 180 lbs.?

No way, dude.  You have nice arms but you must be measuring them wrong.
Telling the truth. Maybe i am lying. ;D
Paco measured my arms last week and it was 46cm and bit more.(2mm)
Weight is correct.

Of Taka or him doing the measurement?  (Ergs and shitbells does that last bit sound queer.)

I know what Taka looks like.  Great natty physique.  Good arms.  But I've not seen 19" arms on anyone pushing at least 200 VERY lean pounds ... unless, of course, they're like 5'1" or so.  Kyomu is taller than that :D
I am not that lean like the video of 2010. A bit fat.
But my arm gained a lot since i changed my workout style.
I will film another video for you guys.

It's Difficult because it's a supraspinatus exercise LOL.

Seriously. This is a neuromuscular orthopedic test used to gauge supraspinatus function.

I do those from time to time like that,,i have done all angles on a side delt to get stimulation,,nothing beats run the rack.i have grown best from that .delt training takes time to find right weigh/rep to work for ya..

ha!

so charles is fucking up with this exercise?

 :-\

I mean, it's hugely activating supraspinatus, which is a muscle that Bodybuilders want to be good, but it's no magic grip for the deltoids. It in fact will take stress off of the delts to a greater degree than a traditional grip.

I'm not making this up, look up any ortho exams for a supraspinatus press test  and they all show this grip and movement.
