Anyone else too obssesed with training?
« on: March 24, 2014, 04:52:12 AM »
For instance i was at a comedy night last night, yet all i was thinking about was todays back workout, at one point when everyone was screeching with laughter i was straight faced thinking about heavy dumb bell rows. I cant help it.

"too obsessed" as opposed to a little bit obsessed?
To be "obsessed" already means you are "too" into it.

To answer the question, no, I normally have no idea what Im going to train until I get to the gym.

I usually plan my workout 24 hours or so before. I form my battle plan, and then im ready to attack.

If I recall correctly, you are one of the bigger guys here.

Must have something to do with your battle plans.

Most people believe Sun Tzu was a top bodybuilder of his day, and that he was never involved in any actual battlefield/combat.

Even soldiers at war get to take breaks to reload or hunker down.  Bodybuilding is a 24/7 battle, 365 days per year.

"The Art of War" may have been written about the annual muscle showdowns between muscle beasts who lived in the Spring and Autumn Period of ancient China.

;D Seriously though, I find that often the worst thing for your training can be obsessing about it all the time, especially when your out socialising or doing something important. It really drains your motivation when it actually comes time to train. I try and forget about training most of the time but then when the time comes for the weights I shut off everything else and give 100% focus to that.

Having said that, I'm on this forum right now when I'm supposed to be doing work, so I need to heed my own advice and piss off right now...

Sun tzu was never cracked top 3 at hahn dynasty nationals.

He turned into his era's Kai. And wrote a faggot ass book, talking about deep emotional things.

I have gotten very nervous thinking about leg workouts on my way to the gym.  All the other stuff is fun compared to heavy/high rep squats.  I've seen my life pass before my eyes during sets of squats.  I wonder how many people have experienced that here... probably not too many.

Yes, the intense life and death situations that accompany lifting weights and putting them down again.
I sometimes wonder how I get through my workouts and still have functioning limbs.

You havent got any friends who have served overseas have you?
Go down the pub and tell a bunch of squadies that weight training is like going to war.

See how that pans out for you.

I have very little motivation when it comes to training to be honest.

I just start my workout, and get the sets done. Occasionally I hit a PB on a lift, but not often as I got most of my best lifts early twenties when I was using a lot more and training hard.

I train at 5:30 in the morning, once every couple of weeks i'll do my first set and think fuck this and put a coffee on and throw some darts for half hour before getting ready for work  ;D (have a dart board/oche set up in my summer house/gym).  ;D

You need some nano vapor or c4 that will get you motivated.

Totally different animal.  You can get crushed doing balls to wall squats... there is a high danger element.  When deads get tough, you simply let the bar go.

The best is people who can't be "distracted" during their workout, because it breaks their concentration....hahahaa aa

I train first thing in the morning so don't have to think about it for the rest of the day.
