I make no excuses, I am just stating things as I see them. We are living in an increasingly hedonistic society. Perhaps it is a collapse of western, Judeo-Christian values or perhaps something else.
Nothing shocks me anymore.
What you said the first reminded me of this book
I didn't me you per se, but people in general. I have heard the same argument. But, I think it is a multitude of things.
As you said, nothing shocks you anymore, and I agree.
I just think it's dangerous and hypocritical for us to act one way for the majority of the time, then act "morally inappropriate" (read into that however you want) and then used the excuse of well, we are carnal creatures. But, one has a brain, right? I think we allow ourselves an out for doing something that we would not normally do so it doesn't weigh heavily on our conscious.
Now, I'm not saying not have a good time, but when you start "getting it in"...that's when you have done a Phil Heath.
I hink you are seeing our society unravel, bit by bit...
And that is why, nothing surprises us, because we are getting used to it. And then something else occurs, and we get used to that.
