Jay Cutler was the most overrated bodybuilder of all time
« on: April 24, 2014, 11:54:08 PM »
Cutler was the most overrated bodybuilder of all time. He only won, due to the fact that he had no competition. He wouldn't have even cracked the top 10, let alone the top 6 in the 1990's. Many say that Yates was overrated, but look who he beat!

Cutler was blocky, with a 50" waist, absolutely NO striations in his upper body and the worst arms in the business, had the soft look, as though he was always in offseason condition. He never imo had the wow factor. Levrone, Yates, Wheeler, Ray, Sonbaty, Coleman, Cormier, Dillett, Demayo, Priest, Clairmonte, Francois, Taylor and even Ruhl, Schlierkamp, Munzer, James, were in another league in their prime. Cutler couldn't shine their shoes. The only competition Cutler had, was an aging and broken down Coleman, Dexter Jackson (a poor man's version of Shawn Ray), Victor Martinez and Melvin Anthony (2 guys who would have both placed outside of the top 10 in the 90's, and Wolf, who was a little more impressive (at times) than Ian Harrison (and we know how he placed in the 90's). Honestly, I wouldn't even put Cutler ahead of guys like Matarazzo or Baker (in their prime).

Cormier finished 6th in the mid 90's and Cutler beat a much better version of him 8-10 years later...

Cormier losing the 2004 Arnold Classic by 1 point to Cutler was a joke. Cutler was listed at 270 pounds but was really about 235. And even at 235 he was soft and flat in the back. Cormier blew him out of the water. Cutler should send Chris the trophy and a hefty check...

The things Cutler must have done for the judges in a private room the night before the 2004 Arnold Classic wouldn't be legal in 49 of the 50 States...

Less hamstring detail and of course, Non-striated gluteus! Cormier had a structural advantage to many bodybuilders, shame he did not win more.

His primary structural flaws were his lack of vascularity, smooth back (for most of his shows), very wide waist, and tendency to hold water on stage. Otherwise, he was well developed in every muscle group and had some of the most respectable wheels of any pro. You could argue his forearms weren't up to Flex Lewis's or Heath's standards, but they were still huge compared to the average gym rat.

x2. Nobody in the history of bodybuilding has received more gifts than the fridge. Cutler is easily the most overrated bodybuilder ever. Nobody else is even close. If the fridge were black or non-American he'd just be that big blocky dude who always looks smooth and bloated.

That's what Nasser said too. If Cutler was not american with the same physique, he'd have barely made the Top 10. Imo Ruhl was a way better BB than Cutler and always placed lower than him.
