Isn't this the BFTO 1999? His best shape by far, never ever replicated that, he looked full and dense with a decent sized waist for his standard... Started to follow the mass game and started abusing oil, only 2001 Olympia was somewhat close...

Jay's big mistake was trying to catch Ronnie in the size department. Well, It did help him in the short run.

But in the long run, he lost the physique that he had back in 1999-2003

Jay had a large and blocky structure and thus his only option was to play the "size game".

Are you saying he is supposed to compete with the likes of Dexter Jackon?

All Jay had was the ability to pack on a lot of mass, however he could not pack on as much mass as Ronnie -
this he was a perpetual second placer.

And when Ronnie slipped he was gifted a win.

Simple as that.

He definitely didn't make a mistake by playing the size game -
It was the only thing he really had going for him and he would never have earned a sandow otherwise.

I agree with you. But I feel that the blockiness that he had in 2001, looked way better than the blockiness that he had in 2010

In the long run, the blockiness became blockier.
