I have a full home gym in my 1500 sq ft basement. My wife insist on joining the local gym.

She has no clue how to use the machines or what they are for. She wants me to join with her so I can show her. I know in the new chain gyms you are not allowed to show anyone under any circumstances what to do. It's a violation of your contract. They are just forcing you to use their one week "certified" trainers for a big fee.

A home gym like that sounds sweet. Have you asked her WHY she wants to join that local gym?

She's a trainer.  Sounds like they used that $ loophole to bounce her.  Probably, they just don't want 13 year olds in the weight section.  Personally, I HATE when there are 7th and 8th graders in the weight section.   Nothing against kids, but dude... they can hurt others.  They don't know common courtesy.  Maybe if parent is right with them, it's cool... but when I see three 13-year olds standing around fiddling with their iphones in front of the dumbbell section, well, just move already.  I hate interacting with other peoples' kids at times when they need to be told to move the #*(&(@#$*%^ out of the way.

I train at an LA Fitness and when I signed up, one of the first things they told me was I was not allowed to train ANYONE!! I can work out with someone as a training partner, but if it was clear that I was doing the training and not working out, I could have my membership revoked. As stated in the article, it avoids outside trainers taking money away from LA Fitness. Whether or not I agree with this policy has little to do with the fact that she was most likely informed of this when she first joined. Now she wants to complain?  ::) ::) She should not have joined if she wanted to train her son.
