no, i'm suggesting in the 3rd quarter, they knew the amount of energy it would take to kill themselves on every play to win it... the number of things that had to go their way... the energy in the building... and the advantage they'd have in game 2 by relaxing a bit and just rolling with it.
So they kept playing but they didn't go overboard with insane defense. We've all seen the Heat turn it on - they can be amazing for 6 to 8 minutes a game, and it is usually when they win games. They never bothered to turn it on today.
we see this from Miami all the time - they play the numbers. they dont bother to play past 80% for some games. I've seen it all year. They did it in the game they lost to BKN too.
