BEST DOGS were always the ones I had at the moment. (Except for DEMPSeY who was dumb as shit!)

Dogs I've gotten for the kids who became an immediate part of the family. A couple taken from the pound. Photos taken from the net ...

First shot is a replica of HARLEY AND DAVID. Lab pups. Both died within a couple of months of each other about three years later, (Cancer related.)

A very sad experience. They loved diving into the deep end of the pool to retrieve a weighted ball.

Second shot is similar to THUMPER. Smartest critter I ever had. Led me to his buddy (Hot Pants)  who was hit by a car abut a half mile from the house while following the kids to school. That episode was mentioned earlier.

THUMPER would honestly join in during cocktail conversations. He would sit and listen and always respond.

Someone stold him and he became a star .... according to a family legend which I believe is 98% factual.

The 3rd shot is GRIZZLEY (internet photo). Very dumb but very fun. Ask for the morning newspaper and he'd run down the block and return with a stolden one in  his mouth and a wagg'en tail.

Had many more but three's enough for you GetBigger.

Good dogs are great people!

Anyone ever see a dog like BOO or ever own one?

Always wanted a St Bernard for the snow cabin with that keg around his neck, but was informed that they had a very short life-span. They had a couple who used to escort the Ski Patrol in Squaw Valley a long while back.

tbh thats one of the coolest looking dog  i ever seen. Got anymore pics of him?
Badass dog, im sure you miss him alot. In a couple of weeks im going to put down my 12 year old ridgeback. Best dog i ever had. Protected my girlfriends from drunks and imigrants that cant take a no. Will be heartbroken and miss him like hell. He was a abused dog that had been to hell and back before i rescued him when he was 1.5. I think its because of that he was so loyal

he was amazing.  had him 11 years. brought him home from the wild when he was about 3 the vets guessed.   was the most amazing, laid back dog ever.   it's been almost two years now, and i miss him like crazy.

They don`t.

Really?
Are you saying they know they are chasing a fake rabbit with no hope of catching it.

Jeez, they are dumber than I thought.

It takes training to run.  Just like the horses.  They both enjoy it.  The "rabbit" is more or less just a target to focus on.  They are more concerned with the marshmallows and whip cream that they get after the race.

wow thats cool.  You saved him and gave him a good life.  I think dogs that has been abused  like my ridgeback or like your story gets more loyal to those who rescuden them than ordinary dogs

Still not near as athletic as a Greyhound.

Very true, but the true APBT can run like you wouldn't believe. They don't know when to stop. They pretty much will let total exhaustion set in.

So yeah, "athleticism" here is highly subjective. They are extremely anaerobic, yet they learn to push through until they are dealing more with cardio-vascular endurance.

Amazing dogs really.

I live across the road from a St Bernard. He'd be about 9 years old and is pretty active. Placid guy and friendly but I wouldn't say he's especially bright. And I've never seen more shit come out of a dog than that one. His owner often complains about how much food he eats and it sure as hell doesn't seem to stay inside him.

I'd go with the Mexican hairless. Dumb as a stump though.

i got a jack russel puppy for christmas when i was 9, she was the best dog i ever owned. fiercely loyal and many times she would escape the house during the day and show up at the school ( whenever she escaped she always seemed to find me where ever i was ) . me and my mates took her everywhere only problem was she was an aggressive little fucker and had to fight every other dog she saw. she wouldnt have lasted 2 mins these days with all the staffys running around.

Every dog or cat I have ever owned picked me.  I grew up and currently live in a neighborhood that is renowned as a destination for abandoning unwanted pets.
