New York, New York...
Well the weekend definitely had its ups and downs. I am extrememly grateful to Tamee and her husband for helping me out with a place to stay. It was so great meeting you and hanging out with you. It is too bad the weekend ended up the way it did but if nothing else I endedup with a new friend and hopefully we will get to hang out in Vegas.
Also one of my closest friends, Susan Groshek won her Pro-Card in Fitness. You did such an amazing job this weekend-I am so happy for you. This next year will be a hard one and I am looking forward to seeing you back on stage...the Pro Stage:) Also the article in Oxygen was really good congratulations on a great month!
As far as my showing this weekend...on the up side I placed in my first National Level Show! It was 11th so nothing to brag about but better, at least I am moving up
So this show I did stay after to speak with the judges and get some help with what to do next. For both rounds Sandy had one word next to my name-bodybuilder. I was too developed for what the judges are now looking for in Figure. For the first round I didn't flex as I heard they were looking for a softer look, I was placed 9th in this round (1-piece). Backstage before the second round an expediator said "separated but not striated" which I mistook as a sign to flex my legs...this moved me down to 14th with the comments, bodybuilder-separation in legs next to my name.
For Vegas, which I am still planning on doing, I will be doing cardio sessions in place of lifting to hopefully bring in down just a bit. I will also not flex heavily on stage and stand in a natural stance. There may not be a whole lot I can do before Vegas and I will have to work on toning down my body by next year if this is the direction I choose to go. Part of me thinks I may be more suited for bodybuilding because lifting is a passion of mine and to not be able to lift heavy would be a great sacrifice. I have awhile before I have to make my mind up though.
To all the other ladies that I meet and chatted with this weekend-congratulations
I know that for most of us it didn't go our way...keep your heads up and I look forward to seeing you all in the future.
Here are some pictures of my back, I still think it is detailed enough. The first three pictures were taken by TK and more can be seen at
