Americans should be proud of their team, they've put in solid shift every game against better opposition.  As someone above points out, you're playing against teams full of guys from the top Leagues in the Europe and you've still been able to hold your own.

Spain, Italy, England, Portugal, etc didn't survive the group stages despite having stronger squads of players.

Other stat I just saw was Belgium had 39 shots, 6 off record by Germany v Italy in 1970. Funny because Italy must have won that game as they lost in final to Brazil.

France and Brazil.

No way France beats Germany. Colombia/Brazil could go either way, slight edge to Brazil.

Watch this space. Before tournament I'd agree with you but France have been best team so far in whole tournament.

Funny as hell if the Americans, with their who-gives-a-fuck "fans," won this shit. Are they still in it?

Figured so, but my ignorant, dismissive, American brain was amused by the thought.

I think Lebron James would have been a good replacement for Landon Donovan.....he has the horrible receding hairline and he already has the flopping part down pat.

What do they mean by "third highest average attendance among US-based leagues?"

There's no way the average or total attendance is higher than MLB, NBA, or NFL.

Actually I guess I could see the average being higher for MLS than NBA, some of those arenas are small.  They play 82 games though.
