hold a real job?

lol... what makes you think that?

you know how many jobs I do? and have done consistently? you think I 'became' a personal trainer? lol.. I've been a "personal trainer" for 14.5years now in addition to owning/running/managing/building other businesses.

... and I don't use my sink. but I wouldn't expect an ignorant, know-it-all like yourself to know that.

wanna be a doctor? ok.. that's 4years of university.. then get accepted to a medical school.. that's 2 years of academics... then you gotta pick an area to specialize, or else you'll just be a GP/MD and will be paying off your loans for 50years... and depending on your specialty, you're looking at 2-6years of residency. better be sure you can/will follow it through, since those loans aren't going anywhere.
You do not run any successful businesses ES. You live in some fantasy land.

Just thought I would let my nearest and dearest bros know about a big career change I am embarking on.

At 29 years of age, I officially hate my job (well paid, but in finance in a shipping firm)

I literally drag myself to work, as the only incentive is paying my mortage and bills.

I've wanted to study medicine and become a General Practitioner since I was about 10, but decided to take a different course of study at 16 yo

It's now or never, I will be qualified at 35 and a G.P. at 38 (potentially 25-30 years in this career).

So as of this september I will be doing a 'foundation year' and then a 5 year MBBS

This is awesome definitely takes gumption to make this change.  Stick with it and stay the course dude, even when the going gets tough.

I thought people became GPs by default.

My dad used to say they were failed specialists.

You can become a GP by opening and office with access to Google.
Most GPs just Google your symptoms nowadays/.

I was successful in my exam and interview/application for the foundation year (as I am a mature student I have to take this route) and then this October I will be applying for schools for the 5 year MBBS, so I have to pretty much get distinctions on every single module this year (basically it's A level Maths/Chem/Biology squashed into a diploma).

Okay.  :)

If you ever need to practice on joints with rheumatic arthritis, you're welcome to fondle me.

I wish I had done medicine instead of law but feel it is too late, gonna try get back working in the courts in a year, need to rekindle my enthusiasm first.

Girlfriend works for two doctors, one is anesthesiologist and makes great money.

If I'm not mistaken Bigcyp is in the UK where Uni costs are a fraction of those in the USA. However, working in the  NHS pays less than a private specialist would make in the USA.

True,

In UK, you don't have to have a degree to get into Med School (You can do a 3 year degree, and then take a 4 year post grad programmer rather than the standard 5 year if you want though)

So it's 5 years at med school = registered doctor (last 3 year of that 5 you are working in hospitals as a student doctor)
Then 2 years placement at a hospital
Then specialise

I would like to become a GP as I love being in the community, have very good links with a big practice in Essex (mother in law manages the surgery) - I can become a partner in a few years after qualifying and earn £120k plus

You get about 3 months experience of each specialism whilst you are doing the last couple of years at Med school, so i'm sure something will tickle my fancy, if I change my mind

Right on, Cyp.  You'll make a top ear, nose, throat, & scrotum man.  Not necessarily in that order, of course.

My testosterone feels kinda low.  When you get your Rx pad?

Still confusing me with a 'male', big nosed attick dweller... How sad and passé.  ::)

My shoulders are fine, the problems are more located in my PIP's, MCP's and MTP's.

x2. Law degree was a complete waste of time. Hated every minute of it and have never used it. Wish I had done something that i was genuinely interested in.

dude I like to bust your balls but deep down I think your a good guy.

that being said life for some people isn't about 'making money' or the size of their roll. some people have a voice in them that speaks to potential and unrealized dreams. sometimes that voice is attached also to genuinely wanting a profession where you can give back. help someone. make a difference.

ya man medical school isn't cheap but fuck dude this guy is doing something in his 30's that most people would NEVER considering attempting. it's not like he's a deadbeat loser with nothing to lose. he's established. probably pretty comfortable. now he's going to throw that into a 180.

to me that's fucking ballsy and commendable. plus I think the career path helps people. they guy deserves a 'good for you man!' not a 'what the fuck are you doing'

how do you earn a living noone?

I don't have a glamorous job. im a guy who fills in the gaps in society. there are people who make a difference like teachers doctors social workers etc then the rest of us hold jobs to keep the cogs that help society keep moving functioning. I fill that role. I could work at McDonald's, a gas station, or drive a taxi for all the identity and gratification my job brings. and I'm ok w that. that's my path.

that being said I'm very lucky to have the job I have. I'm goddamm blessed actually. I work 2-3 days a week. this summer I'll have worked 4 days since may 16 till I go back to work tomorrow. I have disposable income enough to travel a few times a year and maintain a comfortable life.

my job doesn't give me my identity nor a purpose greater than just being another tooth in the cog. and I don't need it to. :)

Thanks brother.

On a side note, I took two guys through a version of your routine yesterday for arms (i.e. 10 second breather between sets, no rest etc) and it was the best workout I've had for a LONG time - funny thing was I am on 1800 kcals at the moment (my BMR requires 2600) so it doesn't even make sense how much energy I had lol.

bro the less you eat the more energy you'll have. it's an odd dynamic but its true as your seeing.

as for the routine fuck it's ridiculous man. I'm spending far too much time outside this summer to get around to wrapping it up but it's a real game changer. no lie.

hahaha right?! so not me.

what's funny is that I did up the dose last night. doubled it actually. w the training I'm doing and the gains I'm making on 500mgs a week I got curious too see what would happen it I opened up the throttle a bit esp given the cardio I'm doing. I *think* it'll all end up very dense lean tissue. we'll see.

It surprised the shit out of me, especially when I started with barbell curls

I warmed up to my max (no rests) and then I was expecting the following to happen because of only having 10 secs (max) pause

Set 1: 12 reps
Set 2: 9 reps
Set 3: 4 reps
Set 4: 3 reps
Set 5: 1-2 reps

What actually went down was, 12 reps, 11 reps, 11 reps, 8 reps, 6 reps  ???

Why the fuck have I been sitting there for 1-2 mins between sets playing on my phone for years
