getting a heart rate monitor

im gonna purchase one of these soon,

whats the highest my heart should be pumping i was thinking 160-170 or shouldi be going higher or lower?

i dont wanna be over doing it but wanna work hard

220 minus your age is your theoretical max.  Shoot for 75%-85% of that.

im 26 but 100 pounds overweight
