because we got concerned with the scale weight.
how many guys were under 220 in the 80's? MOST of them.
how many guys focused more on chest, abs, and arms before dorian? most of them.
we figured out that we had to force feed ourselves to get as heavy as possible.. and if you wanted that scale weight to increase, you had to put muscle on the largest areas, meaning legs and back. which meant focusing more on movements that brought into play more muscles everywhere.
who had a big, wide, thick back back in the 80's who didn't also have a bigger than average waist?
who had big, dense, thick legs back in the 80's who didn't also have a thicker torso?
I can't think of anybody.
