i was there at the nats in new york city in 2000 n saw vic win the show n turn pro,i honestly think he looked better that night 14 yrs ago than he does now,what the hell happened

Exactly! Like my previous post states. Branch, johnnie Jackson, Wolfe, all looked better when amat, or just when they turned pro earlier years

Lots of factors at play here:

Vic was 27 yrs old in 2000, body is fresh, prob relied less on insulin and GH and more on diff compounds of steroids and when he turned pro like many others loaded up the slin/GH combo to the max combined with all other hormones/oils and as the yrs sets in and these guys get older their bodies aren't responding yet they continue to push the envelope ( Vic is in his early 40's but the abuse/tired body look has set in)

If u look at today's NPC guys they mostly all look like shit cause in modern bbing it's all drugs!!

No one gives a fuck about training or dieting hard anymore

Martinez should retire, doesn't look good, it's unbelievable how his body badly regressed compared to his peak... Much wider and bloated waist, lost a lot of mass and thickness, especially in the lower body, also in his lats it seems... A shadow of his former self... He will always remain the true Mr Olympia 2007 though, in my opinion...

Based on his placings Bonac is doing pretty well in the open. Legs are huge and upper body is catching up. At least from pics he looked to have taken Vic and he and Max could have easily been 1,2.  Vic's physique just looks worn.

In Vics Defense.Victor Martinez was in jail for 7 months in the domincan republic.In 2012.Yes that was 2 years ago.But just imagine being in a jail no weight, harldy any food, and the humbling experince.Let me tell you something, having no homrones, no food, no weights, for 7 months can shrvel you dwon to nothing.You receptors are used to getting anabolics,, your body is used to lifting weights.Your body is also used to getting alot of protein.He got neiother for 7 months over some bull shit charges.So kudos for Victor for even coming back to where he is now.Trust me the jail in the Domincan republic are really really rough.I bet not one of you would make it a week in a Dm jail.
