Ugly, bald Shitso scalp for sale = $1

« on: August 12, 2014, 10:29:40 PM »

I was just watching a show on TV about Tony Romo and his mega-contract. They showed his career Win/Loss record, TD to interception ratio, game winning drives, and some other stats. Now....admittedly I'm not as learned a football fan as many of you are.....but what the fuck has this guy done to deserve that kind of salary and the accolades he receives?

Am I missing something here? He's not even in the top 5 QBs in the league?

he's a marketable name.  he is a 'stable enough' QB.  he's an insanely talented athlete, he's just not bright or all that focused.  he is good enough for 12-14 years of keeping it together.  And on any given sunday, he *could* put it together and win.  He pushed manning hard last year in shootouts.  75% of the QBs in the league can't shoot it out like him, maybe more.

he's a safe choice for QB.  May never win the big one, may never get there, but might get lucky one year.  Favre only won it once, and he was much better than Romo, it was every year losing to 49ers or Cowboys.

Another year or two and Dalton will be a star in the NFL. Way underrated.

Are you serious? What about all his tremendous fuck ups? I must not know enough about football. He singlehandedly screwed the Bengals in several games last season with completely amateur mistakes.

Ambiguous statement. A "star". Doubt it anyways. He's average at best.

Tony Romo has led 23 game-winning drives since 2006, I'm not sure how you arrived at this conclusion.

Haha no you were right all along, Andy Dalton is decidedly average.  Considering all of the talent around him, there's no excuse for his poor play.

Coach doesn't know as much as he'd like you to think :-/

That's very true , I guess u could say when the game really mattered like the playoffs , or the final game of the season where he had to win the division and get into the play offs he's failed!!

Botched snap in Seattle comes to mind, 2007 team when they were 13-3 against the giants, a few yrs ago against the redskins throwing an interception and many many more when the game counted

See this is where the "un-clutch" label comes from.  He's fucked up a couple of memorable times and that's all anybody remembers about him.  I still think his body of work makes him a top-8 QB today.

Think about Peyton Manning throwing that pick-six in the Superbowl.  Or how he nearly got shut-out this year in the Superbowl.  Hell, he's only 11-12 in the playoffs... doesn't mean he's not one of the greatest of all time

At least we know Romo won't lead the Cowboys to another 8-8 season.   They'll be 3-13.

Yeah sadly.  I'm a Romo fan and I think he would have won a Superbowl or two on a lot of other teams.

One of the things with Romo is all his insane comebacks, where he goes 14/16 passing, 150 yards in the 4th quarter , masterfully avoiding sacks and puts his team on his back while guiding them to victory are localized noon games against The Lions or The Raiders which nobody sees except for locally.

When he really shits the bed it seems to always be on Sunday night football or a playoff game in front of the whole world.

Agreed.

I think he would do much, much better on a lot of other teams, but you gotta also be clutch to win Superbowls.....Romo ain't that.....at least not yet.

Driving your team 32 yards to kick a field goal with 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter to beat the Jaguars isn't exactly the stuff of QB lore.

Tony Romo will get Jason Garrett fired this year, probably the first NFL coach to get canned this season.

Romo just isn't very smart. He doesn't learn. The best NFL quarterbacks learn and get smarter. Their athletic skill plus their football intelligence is what makes NFL quarterbacks winners.
