Worthless pos Obama delayed Foley attempt rescue for 30 days

Bergdahl deserted his unit. That is not debatable. As a result, several soldiers died trying to "rescue" him. I put rescue in quotation marks because it appears Bergdahl was a Taliban sympathizer. To top it off, we traded Bergdahl for our five highest value detainees at Guantanamo.

I don't think Foley's status as a journalist is relevant. And FYI the leader of ISIS is a former Guantanmo detainee that was released on Obama's watch. Somehow, I don't think that the five pieces of camel dreck we exchanged for Bergdahl are going to abandon their mission and open up a fallafel stand.

First of all it's not been proven yet that he was a deserter but let's just assume that he was.  That fact remains that he was a member of the military and Foley was a freelance journalist.  I suspect the Army would have made the same effort to track down a deserter as they would to "rescue" a POW.   The claim that Bergdahls was a Taliban sympathizer is unproven and he certainly doesn't seem to have been treated in a sympathetic manner given his condition when released.

You can debate whether we should spent time and lives trying to rescue Bergdahl and whether we would have exchanged the 5 guys (or anyone) for him but it doesn't change the fact that we have no obligation to try to rescue a freelance journalist who willfully put himself in harms way
