In uk an old cl or slk costs around 5k. Petrol tax and insurance would be the main hitch.

Not a very practical car at all, I drive my wife's z4 sometimes and it's fun but useless. Guy I work with has a new slk 55 AMG and it's pretty but, no.

435i gran coupe would be a better choice for your imaginary next car

Nothing wrong with my 2007 V6 Accord sedan... reliable as hell and it's fast too... best car I ever had.  I drove a Honda Civic for 13 years, it never broke down.  Unfortunately I smashed it in 2010.

The accord is probably the best all round affordable car IMO, I'd probably get a V6 accord wagon to replace the old civic as "dog car" if they offered one in the US (instead of that piece of shit Crosstour)

But a "prestige" roadster that needs premium gas like that SLK shouldn't be really slower than a 4 cylinder economy sedan base model...

Those poverty merc models are for ghetto Rich wannabes, the same kind of stupid women who buy the smallest Louis Vuitton purse because they have to have the brand name no matter how crap the product is

To be honest, even the AMGs feel on the slow side. Could just be me though - but the AMGs I drove felt laggy when you put your foot down and even when it did pick up - there wasn't much there.

Beemers didn't have that issue at all...
