How many of you use  noise canceling wireless headphones at the gym, I have some cheap earbuds and I can always hear the gym music over it,is it a big difference with these kind of headphones.

If you get to listen to some of your favorite songs while lifting dont you think that would pump you up.

The Trainer, you need to drown out all extraneous noise to focus only on your workouts.

I just buy a few cheap sets of ear buds for travel and gym head phones. I can see paying for good household audio/headphones, but not for gym ones, not when they can get mashed, stretched, worn through, etc....

I bought some Yurbuds earphones with patented twistlock technology 'guaranteed not to fall out' - they fall out.

I have gone through 7 pairs of skull candy headphones this year, I ALWAYS manage to fuck them up somehow.

No point buying expensive ones cos they'll just get fucked up.

Basically the issue is sweat gets into them and causes water damage.

Also I smashed a few pairs up cos some times I catch em with weights or cables and they just go flying off.

When I am boxing I'll use small wireless battery speaker dock that connect to my I-Phone its pretty cool and loud.

But sometimes when I listen to gangsta rap and its like "ni-ga this ni-ga that"...I have to run over and quickly change tracks cos some MILF mummy's don't approve of that sorta music in my gym.

It's actually been scientifically proven music allows you to train more intensely than without and the louder does make difference to intensity

Expensive headphones in the gym just sounds like a bad idea to me. They get trashed too easily or worn out real quick.

I do have specific songs I'll stick on for certain sets. Typically heavy sets or PB attempts. It's a great tool. It's far easier to slip into that focused and aggressive mindset for lifting with outside stimulation. It's behavioural programming, eventually a song can be subconsciously linked to a particular mindset, and hopefully optimism and determination (if you don't fail too often) which in the end results in more intense training. Why wouldn't anyone want to utilise this?

my gym has a suggestion box. I wrote no more rap music no black people in gym. Been dance music for last 3 weeks guessing it was taken on board.

headphones distract me. I'm better off when I acknowledge people around me in the gym. I'd like to put some loud music from the stereos but headphones are gay as shit.

I can zone out better without those ear killers.

Sennheiser (ie60) noise cancelling ear buds and I love them.  Pricey, but amazing sound and you won't hear the doucebags trying to interrupt your beast mode to engage in small talk.  I bough my daughter a pair of beats in-ear buds and they were fcuked in about 2 months.  Got a new pair free of charge, but even so the sound quality doesn't touch Sennheiser.

You need to ask Phil Heath this question. As he is the premiere audiophile headphone enthusiast.

I carry a boombox.  If people around me don't like it, they can just leave me and my supersetting 5 workstations and train elsewhere.

serious question here... I use an iphone5 with dollar store earbuds.  I wash, lose, break them often, so I just roll with cheap shit.  They sure don't cancel noise tho.

How much are these ones you mentioned?  Is sound quality amazing?  and they block the outside world?
Also, are they durable?  Surely i'd take better care if I paid more than $1.06 for them.
Finally, where can I get an amazing pair? target or walmart electronics section?  Driving to best buy and dealing with all the pretentionus workers... ugh, all so punchable.  (prefer not buy online so I can take back after i wash and ruin them)

People need to stop saying that when Phil heath trains, phil heath listens to motivational reinforcement speeches recorded by Phil heath featuring compliments on the physique of phil heath, written by phil heath and narrated by frank caliendo doing the voice of phil heath.
