This was huge news and a lot of hype when it was announced it would happen on NBC -sports network.
Now, we know they pulled the plug and few seem to care or show interest?
It's like the world of BB was all excited and now wants to pretend it was never going to happen? WTF is going on and why won't anyone in BB talk openly about this media issue?

  • I hope I'm not boring you.
Internet ruined it, everyone that wanted to see it, already saw it a month ago. The NBC coverage was great for the Olympia's legacy, but for younger fans, it's a shruggable event.

Pro Bodybuilding is akin to a circus freakshow, putting it on mainstream TV would only bring derision and ridicule.

Its fucking horrible.

Why did they decide not to show it?

Because who really gives a shit. Why should I care if they pulled the show? It does not affect me in anyway.

Plus, I am glad it was pulled. The "sport" of bodybuilding is better if its cult-like and esoteric, as opposed to mainstream. The last thing I need is some jackass at the water cooler at work saying to me, "Hey man, did you catch the mr. olympia last night? Clearly, Branch Warren should have won."

Why did they decide not to show it?

Everyone that cares already streamed it or attended it.

Why did they decide not to show it?

No mention yet, they replaced it with one of the big car auctions. There was suppose to be an encore in a few days, so we will see. It would be something if they filmed it and said "This is shit" after viewing the rough cut  :D.

It should've been live. Who watches taped sporting events, especially months later.

I would imagine there would have been a bit of an uproar if it was supposed to be a live event...

  • Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.
I thought it sounded strange that tv would show this.. now things are back to normal.

Reason is most likely all who seriously have a stake in this industry,, or that genuinely likes modern bb are just letting this one go and hopes no one mentions it because they don't want to realize how shitty bb is. This is embarrasing for them. They probably went around and started talking about this big 'tv event' to their friends and such lol

its also horrendously boring, one guy after another pumping their fists and cupping their ear and stomping around.

Its not like anyone puts anything into a posing routine anymore, as for Kais routines, thats enough to put hardcore fans off never mind newbies watching.

I honestly believe the obvious and extreme drug use that turned BB into a total freak show is why the plug was pulled by NBC.
I suspect the freakish , extreme drugged look shocked the NBC sports journalists and they quietly walked away from it.

Many hardcore bodybuilder types will now act like they don't care and it didn't matter, etc
BUT, they sure seemed pumped when it looked like it was going to be aired didn't they!

The reality is that bodybuilding is so drugged up now, no mainstream media outlet will touch it.
Those in bodybuilding want to pretend it doesn't matter but c'mon, this was bad for bodybuilding and everyone knows it.

Why did they decide not to show it?

I suspect it was due to the extreme , obvious drug use.
Those in the sport have no basis for judging just how bad it has gotten over the past 20 years.

My channel guide says it's going to be on this Saturday from 530-7 pm EST. Time Warner Cable, NBC Sports Channel.
That's probably subject to being changed though.

I think all of us getbiggers should come together and march to the offices of NBC to protest this injustice against men in thongs.

Only guys in on there own would watch it, its like bodybuilding magazines, can anyone say that they dont feel slightly ashamed reading one in the newsagents?

It's also the reason these guys look like shit a few days after competition.

The facts show that the most dedicated supporters of hardcore bodybuilder were older gay male schmoes with $$.
Hardcore BB is a drug dependent sport and has been for a long time.
Many within the sport would rather have it die or remain obscure then change and go legit.

I've heard that NBC thinks Phil is a child and decided to pull because of that
