It's real.  However Colbert believes in climate change for the same reason coach doesn't, political ideology.

when someone believes the truth it's not "political ideology" it's because they are correct

meditate on this

This couldnt be further from the truth.  Colbert being correct is not dependent on him understanding why he's right.  His opinion on climate change is part of a collection of political opinions he holds none of which are based in an understanding of the facts.

LOL yes.  I've never understood the backlash against climate change.....even if it turns out that it wasn't a real threat, protecting our planet ought to be in the interest of everyone.

Heaven forbid that we try to make the world a better place to be for our kids.

the sun rises the sun sets and presumably it will rise again

everyone knows this it's not a matter of opinion.

If there's some political agenda at play let us know what it is precisely thanks.

His opinions on climate change are part in parcel of his political ideology.  He would belive it even if all evidence proved the contrary as long as it remained a part of his overall political philosophy.

Youre the one using the term  political agenda, not I.  I never used the word agenda.   I said ideology.

I also didnt use the word mysterious either nor did I imply anything of a mysterious nature.. The word that's tripping you up is ideology.   Here is the definition.

1. the body of doctrine, myth, belief, etc., that guides an individual, social movement, institution, class, or large group.

2. such a body of doctrine, myth, etc., with reference to some political and social plan, as that of fascism, along with the devices for putting it into operation.

I understand this I'm asking you to clarify what Colberts ideology is.

Four Great Truths:
  • Of course the burning of fossil fuels is altering the climate.
  • Of course the ceasing of burning will wreck the world economy.
  • Of course wind farms and solar will not make up for the absence of burning.
  • Of course the only alternate choice that currently works is nuclear fission.

Edit: I am not being sarcastic here.  Every single statement is true.

Exactly. Even better wording than I was going to say. LOL. Linking to NASA-  TA my dad was a section at JPL in the DSN for 20 years.. I majored my first year in physics at UCI. Step it up a bit. ;)

I understand this I'm asking you to clarify what Colberts ideology is.

No you didn't know.   You're original question was based on the false premise that I said Colbert had a mysterious agenda.  I neither said nor implied that Colbert had a mysterious agenda.  As you are now aware, ideology and agenda mean entirely different things.  By correcting your errors the original question you asked becomes irrelevent and is void. Meaning, you no longer have a question.

Thats not what you asked me.  You asked me a question about his mysterious agenda. I couldn't answer that because I made no such claims of knowing.  The question about Colbert's ideology is a separate question.   Agenda and ideology are vastly different.   Do you know that?  Answering your second question on ideology does not answer your original question about whether colbert has a mysterious agenda.

You've only asked twice after I clarified what ideology was. Prior to correcting your mistakes you did not know the difference between mysterious agenda and ideology.  How did you confuse the two?  You also made the erroneous claim I used the terms mysterious and agenda more than once.   By changing my words you tried to change the meaning of my statement.   Was this change intentional or a product of ignorance?

You're feigning ignorance.   You know exactly which way Colbert leans.  It's common knowledge that Colbert leans left.

havent detected any ideology or leftism. from wikipedia:

Although, by his own account, he was not particularly political before joining the cast of The Daily Show, Colbert has described himself as a Democrat according to a 2004 interview.[118][119] In an interview at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard Institute of Politics, he stated that he has "no problems with Republicans, just Republican policies."[120] Colbert is a practicing Roman Catholic and a Sunday school teacher.[20][121][122][123]

is this what passes for left leaning? :-\
