Chic, can you list the carrier for this policy.  Cause honestly if it is really what you say it is then I am calling them to sign up.  You just can't get insurance here for anything close to that.  What is the deductible you haven't said.  And is drugs included.  What is the co-pay?  I'm serious, I want to look into this so I can get some insurance.

Maybe you missd the part about being an IFBB pro to be eligible...or maybe I missed the show you turned pro at...!

It's called GROUP coverage for a reason...that reason is that it's cheaper because we have a large GROUP we have to be insured.

Win your pro card and I'll be sure to send you the info ASAP!

According to the website you can be an NPC card holder too. Although it did not list the rates why wouldn't the rate at least be the same since there are a lot more NPC members than pro.

The paperwork was average, and included all the regular questions they asked...nothing more, nothing less.
This coverage is available to any active IFBB pro.
I'd bet the amount of claims is MUCH less than all the fat, out of shape, smoking, drinking, couch potato's that make up the vast majority of insured people in the world. THEY'RE the reason med insurance cost is out of control as it is...!
at least they are able to have a job ...

Well that's fine, I'm sure with group rates as low as these their individual plans are great to.  The group plan for my gym here is $468 per month per employee.  SO whagt you are telling us is that EVERY pro will be covered under this plan.  Meaning that the IFBB is paying the bill.  Cause to get a group rate a group has to be enrolled.  Are you making every pro get this insurance.  If not what if only 10 choose to get it.

How do get such good rates then.  To get a group rate I thought the employer signs up how ever many employees are eligible for insurance and they get the group rate.  How many pros are there anyway.  Can't be that many.  Plus isn't there an eligibility required.  Like with SAG you had to earn a minimum of $5000 or so to be eligible to get insurance and have SAG pay for it.  What make you eleigible being a pro and paying a $200 a year fee.  What kindof insurance company is this.  What is the name of it.  I really would like to find out so I can get a quote.  PS.  I was a professional in one of the hardest sports out there and in another real sport and didn't do to bad.

Sorry, being that you're not a IFbB pro, you're not privvy to that information...it's privlidged to members only.

The IFBB doesn't pay the coverage, the athletes do.

Congratulations on being a former pro at whatever you did...did someone ask?

As has been stated for a long time, there was never anything stopping the IFBB pro competitors from seeking group health insurance on their own.  It was not then and is not now the responsibility of the federation itself to pay for either the coverage or for any portion of the discount.  The discount is available because the anticipation of the carrier is that x-number of persons will sign up under this plan.  You are right - an individual cannot get discounts on their own without joining a group and in this case, that 'group' is the IFBB competitor membership.

No, not everyone will choose to get it, but it's safe to say that 'several' probably will.  I haven't seen Bob indicate anywhere that this would be mandatory for anyone.

There's a time to nitpick (and you know I'm one of the first for that), but there's also a time to pat someone on the back and say 'well done - thanks for making this happen'.  I don't know the specifics of the plan, but I do know this - it's a heck of a lot better than what was available to the IFBB pros 6 months ago.  This is a positive step and can only get better with time.

Well, obviously something doesn't add up here. Bob states that he is already paying roughly $135 for coverage. How is this possible when the plan has not even been presented to the pros? Who are y ou grouped in with already when no one has applied? I'm willing to bet that most will not take advantage of the coverage. What then, will your rate go up?

Me and disgusted finally agree on something...

How can chick already be getting the GROUP rate when there is no group signed up yet and no guarantee that any of the few hundred pros will bother?

Onlyme was a pro wrestler wasn't he? A little tougher way to make a living than being a pro bodybuilder...

Even though you pay those premiums, do have any concerns that the insurance company will not pay off? Are all of you going to openly disclose your drug use on the application?

Most people don't have to ask, but it was arm wrestling which competition wise is a real sport not a half-ass beauty contest filled with primadonnas.

Also, I don't see anything coming out of the insurance thing.  What is so secretive that Chic can't even come up with the companies name who is providing the insurance.  I think it's one of those companies that you pay a fee to and when you go to the doctor or hospital they pay you back some money for the time you spent there.  It's not real medical insurance.

And yes how does Chick get group rates already when there is no group yet.  And why would you give up your Blue Cross provided by SAG (I am hoping you at least made the minimum) for FREE to pay for insurance.  I don't understand this.  Please explain.  And what is the name of the company so I can call them and get some.  Or is this a company that just started up strictly for IFBB pros.  And didn't you say NPC also.  Hell anyone can join the NPC.  Something just doens't add up.  But, I am sure with Chick's great way of telling people how it is, he will come on here and explain it.

Why do you care that I care.   And what is meltdown for.  Son, you are getting into a discussion way over your head.  Stay with what your screen name describes yourself.  The not so macho guys on here will enjoy you more.

And I could care less about the BB's insurance.  I REALLY do want to know who is providing it so I can get me some insurance.  Unless of course it is an insurance company created strictly for the IFBB.  In taht case it won't be around long enough to file a claim.  Other than that I REALLY want to know the name so I can inquire.  Thanks Chic in advance

What doesn't add up? The plan is already in place...as I've stated a few times already....I'm "formally" presenting it to the pro's at the meeting coming up. The details have already been in place, we don't have to wait for a certain amount of people to sign up...there are details that have been put together behind the scenes when putting the plan into action.

Why wouldn't most take advantage of the coverage? They prefer paying more? Having NO insurance is smarter?

Bottom line is..it really doesn't concern any of you that arent pro bodybuilders does it?

Are you just slow? What about NOT BEING A PRO BODYBUILDER DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?

Your NOT eligable. What difference does it make what insurance company it is? You can call ANY insurance company and apply for coverage...

ARE YOU A IFBB PRO??? NO

ARE YOU THEREFORE ELIGABLE FOR THE IFBB GROUP COVERAGE??? NO

Can't explain it any more simple than that...if your STILL not smart enough to figure it out ...that's your problem...not mine.

This is how a pro Bber speaks to fans.

This is how the IFBB Athlete's Rep speaks to fans.

Well not exactly a rep for the athletes just the IFBB.  Anyway, Chic believe me I am as far as slow as you get (unless talking about running).  You come on here and try to make it look like you got every Pro medical insurance.  I am saying (and try to understand this cause you are really acting autistic) that if you found a group that will insure the IFBB Pros (and believe me the last thing I would ever want even if I had the chance to be, would be an IFBB Pro, unhealthy and there is hardly a future in it) for just $135 a month I would like to know the name of the insurance company so I can call them to find out their individual rates.  Cause if in fact you are getting these prices, then their individual prices will be much less than what is available here now.  What part of this don't you understand.  If your'e not smart enough to figure this out then I'm sorry for you.

Also, since you are being so smart, why did you give up your Blue Cross which is free to go pay $135 a month.  I mean you are or were covered by Blue Cross through SAG weren't you.  From what I read on here you are doing very well in Hollywood so medical insurance in provided to you for free.  Do I have to go slower for you.  Cause I can't.

Also, you are the only IFBB Pro to have this insurance, how come.  That is a small group.  Hell I can get a group bigger than that together.  Are you sure this insurance policy isn't something somebody sold you one night at Denny's.
