Honestly I agree, if you were to ask me the real mother of all problems was that black folk weren't able to split their identity.

Due to white flight, black society never got to experience the wonders of stratification.

Without this the thugs, from the good were never sifted apart.

There is classification/stratification with black folks. Except black people don't want to admit it.
The elephant in the room is accepting the stereotype or "character development" of the black male criminal.
This has been so honed over the last, 40ish years, that it now has been ingrained in many black male minds as "the standard". And that the other option is being a white washed black man, aka a "Carlton". I believe that needs to be challenged. Because it doesn't allow true freedom. One is still a slave to what people are deeming you to be.

Once desegregation happened, black folks were targets, so that led to solidarity of sorts---when the bully is a white face, and victim is a black face, all black people are affected.
Now, the bully can be anyone, but usually the biggest one is either one with a black face, or in a position of authority.

IMO, when the civil rights movement took place, the attitude of black leadership towards government should've been one of "Leave us alone. you've done enough." Unfortunately, the "You owe us," attitude prevailed. This led to well meaning but stupid liberal anti-poverty measures which backfired and created intergenerational poverty, an over-reliance on government and an under reliance on entrepreneurship and two parent households.

The end result of this failed experiment has been high unemployment and high crime rates among African-Americans, and increased mistrust of them among whites.
