They were running CRV's, which started out as just a extra show of force/policing at a high risk terrorist targets. Now they use it more in high crime areas. It's nothing covert, just an extra police presence in bad areas.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL - FROM OUR MEDIA PARTNER WFLA:

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and the Tarpon Springs Police Department are investigating an officer involved shooting.

Deputies say the officer is dead.

The suspect in the shooting is in custody, according to officials.

The shooting occurred at about 3:00 Sunday morning on Grand Boulevard in Tarpon Springs.

A news conference will be held this morning to provide further details regarding this incident.

We will provide time and location as soon as the information is available.

Florida Governor Rick Scott released this statement:
Governor Scott said, "We are saddened by the death of Officer Charles Kondek who was killed in the line of duty early this morning. Ann and I pray that God provides comfort to his loved ones and all those who have been affected by this terrible tragedy."

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a statement regarding Tarpon Springs Police Officer Charles Kondek who was killed in the line of duty:

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of this brave police officer who sacrificed his life to protect his community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Officer Charles Kondek's family and the members of the Tarpon Springs Police Department during this difficult time of mourning.”

natural human response to government oppression - mind you I don't condone this violence, but I understand that men will do these things

and BTW when I say oppression I do not mean "racial."

Also, the government is smart enough to expect this.  Not a big surprise to Mr Obama at all that this happened.
