Yes, Walker looked great from the front though.
at least he didn´t get involved in all the Gay shit that most did at Golds, did his own thing. Comes over as quite a tough character.

THE INTANGIBLE ARNOLD:
THE CONTROVERSIAL
MR. OLYMPIA CONTEST OF 1980
By John Fair

"Arguably the most devastating result was the
decision by CBS, in light of the controversy, not to
broadcast the 1980 event. About two weeks prior to the
contest, it sent a film crew to California under producer
Sherman Egan to gather human interest material on four
of the leading contenders- Mentzer, Coe, Zane, and
Dennis Tinerino-and then on to Sydney. A day or two
after the contest, Egan called Coe,
and we (Mike Mentzer, Frank Zane and
myself) met with Sherm. He made it
clear, that in his limited knowledge of
bodybuilding it was clear to him that the
contest was fixed and that they could
never show this on CBS, and they
would not even bother to edit it. He told
me that if I ever cared to watch it, to
come to CBS in New York and that he
would be happy to show me the raw
footage. Late in 1980 . .. I happened to
be in New York, so I called Shenn up,
he set up the viewing, and so on a cold
Saturday afternoon, Chris Dickerson,
Wayne Demilia, his wife and myself,
watched the footage. It was even worse
than I thought. I quickly realized why
CBS could never show it. Sherm
laughed and said about the only thing
they could do with it was possibly put it
on 60 Minutes

Although CBS had one more year on a three year contract
with the IFBB, it did not bother to send a film crew
in 1981 and has not covered a bodybuilding event since
1979."

Well that was the year Franco won. But 81’ was probably the last year left on the contract and they took a chance that that IFBB wouldn’t sue them for missing the last year since the majority of the contract was complete and it was a waste of money for CBS.

They knew `80 was a joke & a fix so when Arnold´s little buddy was up for the next show they knew it would be even more controversial & it was.
it´s like Roger walker said in the interview, "everyone can smell bullshit"

Walker is just another bitter has been that never was.

Exactly.
Just watch any footage or photo of him standing next to Arnold.
Arnold crushes him in every single pose
yet he claims Arnold was off and didn’t deserve to be top 6.

Yea, walker looked good standing there front relaxed but Arnold schooled him in every shot.
Most people, the competitors included make the same mistake, they say Arnold wasn't like he was before, but he wasn't competing against himself.
He still had his trademark bodyparts and poses and actually bought a different package being extra dry, ripped and vascular.

Bill Pearl was training Chris Dickerson for the 1980 olympia and was going to judge but pulled out due to being fair. He did not step back from it being BS at all.

Walker is just another salty loser. And that's the good thing about the 1980 olympia. Arnold exposed these cretins for being the fragile egotistical small men they really were. Especially old meth head. Imagine losing your sh!t for the next 20 years over some small bodybuilding contest that most people on the street don't even know about. Pretty pathetic really.

The reason Arnold did not mention the 1980 Mr.Olympia controversy in his Netflix documentary?

He regrets the way he disrespected just about every competitor when he first arrived in Sydney.

He wants to apologize to Boyer .... or at least waiting for Boyer to kick the bucket so he can revisit the whole 1980 victory

During the prejudging a judge warned Arnold he was going to mark him down if he didn't hit side tricep pose correctly ...... that judge did not come back for the night show .......  ;D

But Arnold was the best guy onstage and he knew it ..

Even though he was at his lightest weight for competition he may have been in his best shape ever.
